Chapter 8: The Witch Who Live

Amarfi's Point of View

"I just want to lie down in a place full of tulips, with lilies on the pond, with the trees swaying on the wind...with you." Those words gives butterflies on my stomach, I refrained myself from giggling. Pero pinigilan ko ang sarili ko, he is Magnus, the next King of the entire Xenyth. He shouldn't focus on me, he should start focusing on being the new King.

"Oh beautiful Amarfi, I can't get enough of your scent. Your blood is so sweet." His eyes started to change color to red. But I'm not afraid of it, not even a little.

"How did you do it?"

"How did you refrain yourself from sucking my blood?" Vampires can't refrain their thirst from sucking blood.

"I was trained to control my thirst at a very young age. Every vampires are obliged to do that to control their thirst, unless they want the human world to discover their existence." Napatango ako sa sinabi niya. The book didn't mentioned about that. The book even mentioned that vampires don't really burn from the sun, unless, you don't acquire the right amount of blood. The funny part is a human can be a witch if they want to but vampires can't turn human into one of them. There's a lot of unalienable laws that are promulgated by the four worlds. To maintain the balance.

Nanaig ang katahimikan sa aming dalawa.

"Amarfi, can we be together?" He asked randomly. I know where this is heading. And we both know, for a fact, that we can't." Because it was against the promulgated law.

"Wake up, witch."

Thump. Thump. Thump.

My heart beats loudly in my chest. I'm still chained up inside the cold dungeon.

My body was full of bruises, my clothes are tattered, and I am dying for water.

"Ang hirap mong gisingin." I heard the voice of Giovanni. Minulat ko ang mga mata ko. Giovanni is in front of me holding a bucket. The water splashes over me.

Nanahimik na lang ako. I heard him sigh.

"Ayaw mo ba talagang umalis sa palasyo? I can help you escape, witch." Hindi ako makapaniwalang napatingi kay Giovanni.

"Aren't you betraying your King?" He tsked.

"I'm not betraying anyone here, witch. I'm just helping you." Helping me from what exactly? I wanted to asked that but I stayed quiet.

Should I escape? Should I escape from my reality again? Should I run away from him again?

"Can't you see!? You are going to die here! Nakakalimutan mo bang nasa lugar ka ng mga bampira! You'll die in just a snap. Can you please think about yourself. Look at you, your body can't take anymore pain!" Why Giovanni, why are you trying to help me?

Umiling ako. "I can't turn away from my fate." I whispered. He eyed me, feeling apologetic. He's hiding something. Nararamdaman ko 'yon.

He laughed sarcastically at me.

"Don't dream about being together with the King, witch. You'll have a terrible fate." I know, Giovanni I'm aware of it. I tried to smile at him but failed eventually.

I cried when Giovanni tried to pull me up, I have no choice but to follow him. He doesn't speak a word and so do I. Hinayaan ko lang itong hilahin ako kung saan man ako nito dalhin. Wala na akong lakas upang lumaban. A few minutes later, I realized that I was no longer in the dungeon.

The fresh air was no nice, and for the record, upon coming here, I managed to smile genuinely. The nature is quite calming for me. Giovanni brought me to the dining hall and we both stopped when we heard someone talking loudly.

"You are not going to hurt her anymore, Magnus!" I heard a woman voice shouted.

"You don't know anything, Allenore." I heard Magnus said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

"Not because the late Queen and King is not here you are allowed to play when you're bored! Remember that all the vampires alive are in grieved danger! And what? You brought her here without even knowing that she might be the one to end it all!" A girl said, she's almost shouting. I stayed quiet.

"Shut up, Allenore. She's here." I heard Magnus. She's so beautiful. Her hair is as black as charcoal and her skin is as white as snow. Her lips as red as blood, and she's looked like Magnus. Nakatingin silang dalawa sa akin.

The woman face looked sad while staring at me. And she whispered while looking at my filthy face.

"She had been through a lot, Magnus. You're the one who don't know anything." I was taken a back. The woman named Allenore can read my mind.
