hey, my lovelies!
i hope everyone's having a wonderful day/night
i've sprouted this idea and conversed with a dear friend about it, i think, about a month ago.
because i wanted to improve my rewrite of 'Nerdy Romance', i read through the comments and criticisms of my original work. it was hard for me because i'm a stubborn brat, deep down, and don't want to admit to any of my mistakes even though i know that i was only 13 years old when i wrote that book so mistakes are unavoidable.
anyway! one critic stood out to me.
as you all know, i enjoy writing my stories with OCs. before, my selfish reasons were because i wanted to feel as though i was a part of the story seeing as my life is so boring, therefore, i personified myself in an OC named fittingly as Angelica (mainly Angel for short). and paired 'myself' up with kenny (always!) because i love him so much and still do. but over time, i found myself needing them as weak 'fillers' for roles that i can't fit any other canon character into so that i could deepen the plot somehow.
i plan to continue doing this for the future works i have planned for you sweeties. however, so that i avoid unnecessary characters, i'll make sure to plan everything beforehand so that in my first chapter, i already know how everything is going to end and how events will transpire without the need for additional characters. in addition to that, since i know some people naturally still adore other characters, i've found a way of evading jealousy...
BONUS CHAPTERS!
...let me set the scene...
(i'll be using my kyle x reader 'nerdy romance' rewrite for this example)
reader (you) in the main plot of the story is in love with kyle whilst OC!angel and kenny are having a romance as well as OC!samantha and stan. this is how it works in the main story plot.
there will be side plots briefly mentioned or explained fully according to their importance in plot development. these side plots are mainly the romances occurring between other characters and OCs
in BONUS CHAPTERS these side plots are explored further but this time, reader (you) are in the shoes of the OC with the names switched. this way, you can experience other romances and explore other side plots as other personalities with other characters.
it'll be extra work for me but i think it'll be fun to delve in. so long as i plan everything beforehand, things will become more manageable so i'll be more willing to write bonus chapters. just to assure everyone that this isn't too much work for me, i'll be limiting my word count to 1k words. sometimes, i'll be flexible with the word count as i know i can babble quite a bit but i'll try to be strict the majority of bonus chapters.
i can't promise how frequent these bonus chapters will be within the plot but i assure you that there will be some along the way.
