The water was warm. A reptillian form broke the surface of the water. Crystal clear water drained down her sharp-featured face as she lifted her head from the pool's embrace. Her silver eyes were traced with blue-green and reflected the direct evening light of the greater sun in their irridescent depths. Sa's feathers hung heavy around her triangular head with the weight of the water. She shook her head and the force instantly restored her silvery gray and smokey purple plumes to their normal state. The soak had eased some of her discomfort but it did not remove it. The skeksis had been ailing for a trinet. Her abdomen was swollen and it was cramping more each day. She crawled onto a large flat overhang and laid out on its warm, smooth surface. Her naked form was lean and fit, aside from her very swollen abdomen. Her four arms cradled her torso. The tail curled up between her legs and she lay still.

She did not realize she dozed off. The rustling of the whisper reeds woke her gently, but something was amiss. Instantly she was on her feet and immediately she saw the reason. An Urru. UrSan to be precise.

"UrSan....What are you doing here?" SkekSa spat, her eyes alight with anxiety. "Did you think I could not feel these things too, Skeksa?" UrSan chided, her voice raspy and deep. UrSan's amber colored eyes regarded her other half with suspicion. Especially her gaze lingered over Sa's abdomen. UrSan's brows furrowed over her spiral patterned face.

"You're gravid SkekSa. Pregnant." There was judgment in her voice, tinged with worry. How could this be?

"Impossible!" SkekSa snapped back, but her mind was already searching for evidence that it was true. It was true she and SkekMal had engaged in primal activities together on and off for many trine. Neither of them gave any consideration to consequence.
UrSan groaned. "You need to go see your scientist and get some help, or you'll end up killing up both with your recklessness."
UrSan sat on the ledge ignoring SkekSa's defensive posturing. She let her long tail into the pool. The long silver-blonde tassel of hair at her tail tip floated about in the current.
"Sit down SkekSa.." the mystic pleaded. "Let us talk as one."
