Y/n couldn't believe this was really happening. He was convinced this was all a dream. It was all he could think about on the plane ride here. He kept waiting to wake up in a hospital bed, a doctor telling him he'd been in a coma.

When he saw a man holding a sign with his name on it, he was still in disbelief. Even while sitting in the back seat of the same mans car and at the hotel and as he slept in the lavish satin sheets in his hotel room.

The next day as he awoke, he was hit with the realisation that this really was happening. He was really flown out here by Camila Cabello to help produce her 2nd album.

"Ah, you made it!" A man came up and shook Y/n's hand as he entered the studio that Camila's team had hired. "I'm Roger, Camila's manager. We spoke on the phone."

"It's nice to meet you in person." Y/n accepted his handshake. "Thank you again, I really appreciate this opportunity."

"Trust me, it's us who appreciate your help on this album." The man smiled, patting me on the shoulder. "We've had our eye on you for awhile now, I'll admit — as creepy as it sounds..."

I let out a humoured laugh.

"Not creepy at all," I responded. "Honestly, it's a bit of a compliment. The team of a very successful pop star keeping tabs on an aspiring Irish producer."

"When you put it like that, it really isn't all that creepy." He nodded slowly, clearly in disbelief. "You're really easy to like, you know that?"

I laughed again.

Camila was a natural.

Not only did she have killer vocals, but she knew her way around instruments too. She showed off both her piano and guitar skills while we worked on this album.

Outside the studio, she was still amazing. She treated me like I was one of her best friends. We went out together, partied together and I even met her family. She really welcomed me into her life with open arms. It made me hard not to like her. She was funny, smart and was breathtakingly beautiful. Eventually, that's what led me to realise that I was starting to see her as more than just a friend or a colleague.

When it became closer to the albums release, I couldn't help but have some sense of relief. I thought I would be able to go home and forget all about Camila, but my heart had other plans. It couldn't help but tug in pain at that thought, of leaving Camila.

I sighed, dusting off my outfit as I left my hotel room. Tonight was the big pre-release party. Everybody would be there from Camila's team, including Camila herself — as it is her album, after all.

I entered the party, being greeted as soon as I walked in. I talked to Roger, then some of Camila's dancers and back up singers. My nerves were calmed, buzzed enough from the drinks and the conversations I was having.
