dazai quietly walked through the empty, dark hallway. pressing the elevator button to the third floor, he hummed as he tried to avoid such things will happen sooner or later when he reached his destination. as the elevator doors open, he turned around and to watch the door close. just as he took a step, he heard a distant shrill. he stopped and glanced back, there was nothing. he just stood there, frozen, listening to the cries of agony that seemed to be so far away...
