Pulling up to the apartment building I would be staying in with three others I couldn't help but begin to feel excited about the new semester.

I was finally a Junior meaning I only had two more seasons left in my collegiate career.

Reversing into my designated parking space I grabbed my two suit cases and back pack from the trunk before heading eagerly to the elevator.

It wasn't a large apartment building and most residents were students as it was walking distance to the majority of the campus.

I looked at my slightly disheveled reflection in the mirror. I didnt expect anything less really after driving five hours from my parents home in Houston.

Finally, the elevator pinged signalling I had arrived on the 5th floor. There was only 7 levels.

I was the only resident from my apartment who left for home over the summer as the others worked in austin or families lived nearby.

So I had sublette my room to a friend for the three months.

Coming to a stop in front of the apartment door I reached into my pocket to fish out the keys.

I hadn't even turned the doorknob before one of my roommates, Lauren, sprung it open before embracing me.

Laughing at her excitement, "it's good to see you too Laur."

She helped me with my suitcases as we entered the apartment.

It looked exactly the same as when I had left in June.

"The others are out getting groceries," she commented.

Lauren was the only other roommate who was on the soccer team.

The other two we had met during a night out and had grown very close.

This would be our third semester sharing an apartment together.

It wasn't too bad other than each of us bringing back a so-called conquest each time we went out.

Leading to awkward encounters in the morning.

We spent the next twenty minutes catching up in the kitchen before I excused myself to unpack.

Thankfully, my room hadn't changed either nor had any damage accrued.

Smiling blissfully at the memories I flung myself onto my bed.

I hated the first two semesters I had to stay in a dorm.

I valued my personal space far too much.

After a couple minutes I sat up and tried to motivate myself to unpack.

Huffing I stood up and unzipped my suitcases before organizing my clothes.

It didnt take long as most of my clothes were athletic gear.

Perks of being a soccer player.

I maybe had five outfits that didnt qualify as work out gear.

As I was finishing organising I heard muffled voices in the other room.

Opening my door I smiled broadly as I took in Julie and Amber.

Seeing my presence they placed the grocery bags on the counter before pulling me into a group hug.

Dont get me wrong i was pretty affectionate but being squished by two people at once wasn't something i enjoyed.

After a couple seconds we separated.
