While a certain fear or risk has been developed after being discriminated against for daring to be born as anything other than straight or the gender you appear as at birth. This however may not have been the case of ancient Greece, it is up to debate as to how tolerate they were of same sex couple in every day life, but there are quite a few myths with this subject appearing. Considering everything that's been happening with this community, I find a great deal of comfort in researching these myths, and how much more forward thinking this civilization seemed to be than our own.

Before I begin, I'd like to briefly discuss Aphrodite and her son/companion Eros. Starting with the goddess of love, I believe that as such, Aphrodite presides over all forms of love, not just the love between a straight couple. The Greek poet Sappho, a writer of many homoerotic poems, credited her to be the biggest ally to herself and other homosexuals. While there isn't as much to say about Eros, as his only major myth is that of himself and Psyche, somewhere in later myths, including him, see him transition from a fertility good to a god of homosexual love.
