Her birth family had given her to a human family in order to keep her safe when her home was attacked. Her birth parents are deceased, the only living relatives being her grandfather and two older brothers, she knows none of them as she was far too young to remember. Her adoptive mother adored her and treated her as if she was her own, but her father thought she was a freakish creature wanting to get rid of her. Not wanting to be seen as a weird family with a daughter so unlike them. Her adoptive brother also shunning her and bullying her, completely on his father's side. He's embarrassed and never wants his friends to come when she's around. Her adoptive mother got in contact with Ruki, who actually overheard a conversation with a friend about this child that she is being forced to abandon. At first she was afraid of them, afraid of what could happen living around vampires, afraid of death and the real reason why she was there feeling abandoned to a frightening fate. But she found Azusa's voice to be incredibly soothing, to the point of her being able to realize the goal was not to hurt her.

It definitely seems she is a noble of sorts. She really isn't. She's more of a well treated tool for Karlheinz, for what exactly? The healing properties that take place in her cold blood. Her mother, Lisbeth, was a young actress, her father having disappeared, she was left to care for the young vampire. This took a toll on the poor mother's mental health, making her an easy target when Karlheinz found out about the child. From the day she was taken from her mother she was raised believing she was Karlheinz' daughter. Getting most everything she wanted and being trained like a noble lady, the only difference being she was on a strict feeding schedule. Keeping her own blood up to standard, however she didn't realize this was the only reason for her good treatment. Until Karlheinz had been attacked and he forced her to give up blood. Whenever she denied him, he would tell her how he saved her from her mentally insane mother (despite it being untrue). Many servants have been executed trying to help her escape.
