Hey people, am sorry for the long wait. I haven't updated since four months ago I think and am sorry,I've just been very busy with stuff lately. So special thanks to @badbxo and RandyNetwork65 for reminding me that I still had unfinished business. So thank you very much. Here is the long awaited chapter.Enjoy.

Kagami wanted to me in private,so I led her back to my office. I've never seen gorgeous, popular Kagami Tsurugi so unsure. Her nervousness had a domino effect on me.

Is she going to scold me for eavesdropping on her at the diner? Or does she know I'm trying to win over Luka, her ex fiance? More and more questions rummaged through my head. Bracing myself for anything, I nearly tripped over my own feet when she decided to break through my trance.

"I heard you were opening your practice, and I wondered if you needed an office manager." She said. I blinked and tried to get my brain to switch gears. I started babbling words before I could really think about what I was doing.

"I was thinking about getting a temp, but I'd love to hire locally if possible. Why? Do you know someone who might be interested? I asked. Kagami's tinkling laughter followed me along the pretty row of brick storefronts.

"You could say that..."she said.

Somehow, I still wasn't getting the picture. I gave her a curious glance. She just grinned at me strangely.

"It's me, Marinette. I'm interested." She exclaimed.

"Oh wow." I said. Well that was unexpected. We came to a stop once we reached the steps that led into my office.

"But I thought you worked for the Couffaines." I stated.

"Yes but I can't work for them for the rest of my life. The grand plan of course, was for Luka to take over his dad's practice. I'd run the office until we started having kids. .." she sighed, then shrugged.

I'm happy for her that she's moving on, it's healthy.Even if I can't do the same."You probably heard by now Luka and I broke up, so that's not going to happen.I want.....no,I need a change. Kagami muttered.

In spite of my jealousy, her words resonated with me. Fate sometimes deals out disappointment. I couldn't blame her for not wanting to continue working at the couffaines, surrounded by constant reminders that her grand plan didn't pan out. Her plan was better than taking my dad's route.

When a car wreck robbed him of my mother,he clung to his pain like a keepsake.I watched him become bitter and resentful, incapable of appreciating his blessings- including me.Eventually he became a shadow of his former self. But is hiring Luka's ex when am trying to seduce him really a good idea? I decided to take her up on her offer.

"You sure you want to work for a startup doctor? The pay probably sucks compared to what you're used to, or could earn in a bigger market like Lemington." I asked. It's a taken protest. I could see the determination in her eyes.

"I like the idea of working in town. There's no quality of life in a long commute. As for the money... tell me,are you a good doctor?" Kagami asked.

I thought back to my years in medical school,my internship and residency. I think ofthe new, precise line of stitches in Adrien's butt. "Yes, I think so " I replied.

"And am a good office manage Marinette,so if you do your job and I mine, your practice will succeed, and I'm sure everything will work out.Right now, my goal is to land the job and be useful. Come on. What do you say?" Kagami insisted.
