one shot

shots ring in my ears along with the hard rain. My mouth tasted foul of my own blood that trickled down my head and left part of my face. I clutch my right arm as I run, it dripped with fresh blood from having a bullet wedged in the flesh.
I attempted to spread my demonic black wings to fly but stopped feeling a sting in a wing meaning a bullet had successfully shot through my wing, preventing me from flying.
My emerald eyes scanned the wet scenery quickly for anywhere I could hide, sharply turning a corner, I skid to my knees down an alley and stopped behind a rubbish tip. I bit my lip to stop from grunting in pain as I hear the men talk and eventually turn to leave. Harsh rain drips off my two horns and my thin black, triangle pointed tail wraps around me to give me little warmth and comfort.

A sigh escaped my freezing lips and I rest my head on the cold concrete wall behind me, rain stabs my cheeks and closed eyes but the overall pain of my demon body hurt too much to differ it from the bullets. My body clad wet with a ruffled and bloody suit shivered and began to feel numb, the feeling of the bullets began to fade from my senses and I had a moment where I stared at the black unforgiving sky and whispered...
"Is this it? Is it over for me now...?"

My eyes began closing and I was slowly accepting death, it wasn't like a demon like me was going to be missed anyway. Humans hunt to kill me, my own kind shunned and hated me, no one cared a for me in this world and no one ever will... So why shouldn't I welcome death...?

Suddenly, I feel no more rain violently beating down on my broken form and my eyes snap open in alarm seeing a figure bending down over me getting wet in the rain as they held an umbrella over my head. Adjusting my eyes on the dark figure, I see a boy looking to be about my age with shining eyes, ruffled hair framing his face dressed in what looked like a black and white suit underneath a light brown coat.
"Don't worry..." He spoke with much gentleness in his tone.
"I'm not going to hurt you" he smiled slowly moving his free hand to wipe my cheek free on rain. My eyes widen more and I stopped myself from lashing out at him before he touched me. His touch had a foreign warmth that I'd never felt before, he gently stroked my cheek causing me to want more of the feeling, so I slowly moved my head into his hand and closed my tired eyes as he gently held my face.
"Don't worry... I'm going to help you" he spoke kindly making my eyes fully drop and my mind to drift away from reality.

~Time Skip~

My eyes slowly fluttered open, I immediately sat up causing a yelp of pain to escape my lips as I recalled the areas I'd been shot, I looked down at myself and my eyes widened in alarm. My wounds had been patched up and bandaged, and my wing had also been bandaged, also I noticed I wasn't in my usual suit, I wore a grey singlet and long pair of dark blue pyjama bottoms. On my shoulders hung a jacket with fluff lining the inside, I gripped the jacket on my form and looked around the room I was in.

I was in a bedroom of some sort of and the curtains on the window were cracked open showing a slit of sunshine lining the wooden floor. Slowly and cautiously; I moved my bare feet to the floor, gripping one hand on the jacket sleeve, I moved out of the bed and to the door.
I exited the room hearing a clutter come from another room down the hallway, I made my way quietly still feeling like my wing wasn't going to let me fly and peeked around a corner to see a figure in a kitchen. The person turned around and I recognised the face of the one that'd saved me, his (e/c) eyes looked over the frypan he held to meet my own.
I jumped in place with a pink blush on my cheeks as he smiled to me.

"Good morning! Have a seat, I made breakfast" he says bringing out plates of food holding bacon, eggs, toast, scones, orange juice and earl grey tea, I felt my mouth water at the sight but refrained from moving. He smiled at me again and sat down at the table...
"Come on, I don't bite" he laughed gesturing to a seat, I hesitantly made my way to the seat.
Throughout the breakfast I didn't speak a word, I was too nervous and afraid, I mean... Why did he help mea-Why Would he help me? I'm a demon, something everyone hates... Never have I been where a human has shown me kindness to an extent that they took me in, healed my wounds and pretty much saved my life...
What could I say...?
