SASORI’S POINT OF VIEW
Deidara and I were back in the base, and from the time we left Iwagakure until the present moment, he wouldn’t stop pestering me about that damn girl I almost killed.
“What were you thinking, un?! I told you not to kill her!” Deidara growled, standing dangerously close to me.
“Well, right now I’m thinking you should back away before one of my traps ‘accidentally’ go off.” I calmly replied. He of all people should know about all the poisonous traps I set up in my room. It almost killed him once. Deidara flinched slightly before taking a step back. “Good. Now as for your ‘friend’… I thought you wanted her dead.”
“WHAT?!”
Here we go again with the yelling.
“What makes you think I would want that, un?! She was my friend, yeah!” Deidara bellowed. I didn’t flinch at the volume of his voice, partly because I couldn’t feel, and partly because I was used to his loud voice.
“Well, you did say you had to take care of something.” Was my simple reply.
Deidara’s eyes twitched in annoyance. “Yes, I said I had to take care of something. I never said anything about killing anyone, un!”
I sighed and rubbed the side of my head. “Your voice is giving me a terrible headache. I didn’t think this was even possible for someone like me.”
“Don’t change the topic, un.” Deidara deadpanned.
“Fine,” I looked him directly in the eyes. “You want to know why I threw your clay ball at your ‘friend’? Because I wanted to know how strong she is. I never really intended to kill her, Deidara. I was aiming as far away from her as possible. I knew she wasn’t going to die.”
“So let me get this straight.” Deidara gave me a stern look. “You attacked her with my clay ball because you wanted to see how she’d save herself?”
“Yes.” I gave a slight nod. “Think of it as an experiment. If we want to defeat our enemies, we must first find out who they are. Their strengths, their weaknesses,” I paused. “And if I were you, I wouldn’t get on my bad side.”
“And why is that, un?” Deidara eyed me warily.
“Because I have already found your weakness.”
Deidara snarled. “You know nothing about me, un!”
“Quite the opposite actually,” I said, raising an eyebrow. “Your feelings are dictating your actions. Nothing good ever comes out of it. Heed my warning, Deidara. You must forget about her, if you want to survive. After all, your ability would be a great loss to the organization if something were to happen to you just because you couldn’t keep your emotions in check.”
“I know what I’m doing, un.” Deidara scowled.
“I never said you didn’t.” I countered. “I know you’re aware of this fact. You’re just too stubborn to take action.”

EMI’S POINT OF VIEW
Two years. It’s been two years since he left. Two years since his betrayal. But still I waited. I waited for a friend who probably already forgot about me.
“Oi!”
My first reaction to the rumbling ground was to panic. Smooth move. All those years of training to rid myself of all those useless emotions, wasted.
