"Sue, it seems like areally silly idea!" I exclaimed at my friend. Susan, or as I called her, Sue, was super  into meditation. I had just told her about a few creepy dreams I had, where something from the shadows was reaching at me. She said that I should try to meditate.

"It works, I promise you!" Sue was way to excited about this.

"Sue, it's basically midnight. " I looked at the time, 11:55.

"So? Just use candles, its going to be so amazing. I have to go now, so promise me you'll ry it?"

I sighed, "Sure Sue."

So, I rounded all of my candles, put them all around my room, and I lit them.

I took a step back lookinng at my handiwork, when I felt a soft breexe on my neck. Not a breeze really, more like a.. like a breathe.

I took a deep breathe in and went and sat on my mat. I focused on my breathing, and my mind started to go blank. It was amazing. About half way through, though, one candle went out. I've gotten really senstive to change in my surroundings after my repeated nightmares, so my eyes immediately flashed open.

It's fine, it was probably just wind, I calmed down a little.

There are no windows open,  My heart started racing again.

Just. Breathe.  So that's what I did.

But then another candle went out. And another. And another. Candles periodically went out, until there was only one left.

It was dark, but I could  feel  it coming. Closer, and closer.

My mind was blank, too blank.

I wanted to scream, I really did.

However by the time my body got the signal from my struggling brain, it couldn't.

The last candle went out.

It was here.
