First Few Days

My name is Mia Everfree. I am 16 and I live in California with my mom(Esmeralda), dad (Andrew),and my twin sister (Leah ). My dad is away on a business trip for a month and I really miss him, so does the rest of my family. he went to Hawaii last year and his plane crashed, he lost an arm but other than that he was ok. Twelve other people were injured during the crash, three died. It was terrible, I am really worried for him. I really like to write books so I am entering a young authors contest.  whoever wins gets $10,000. I really need that money for college, my family isn't rich. I am sad that I am moving to Kentucky tomorrow, I will really miss my best friend Charlotte and her family.  My mom got transferred to Kentucky because she is a doctor, they needed some more doctors there so we are moving. I guess it's time to say goodbye to the people I love.  Right now it's 7:07.I walk slowly down the stairs, "Mia, is that you honey?", my mom asked. I quickly sneak down the hall because I know that she will ask me to do chores. I went next door to Charlottes house, and then I rang the doorbell that seemed so familiar to me. "Hi Mrs. Campbell, can I talk to Charlotte please?" I asked. "Sure thing sugar, I have a goodbye gift for you and your family but I can't give it to you until tomorrow." Mrs. Campbell answered. I sighed, I will never have a better next door neighbor than the Campbell's, I thought. I walked upstairs to Charlotte's room and knocked quietly on her door. "Come in." I heard Charlottes voice call out. I opened the slightly squeaky door and walked in her tiny room. "Hey, this is it, I'm moving tomorrow Char." I said. " Don't remind me." she said sadly. We just sat on her bed thinking about how different it would be tomorrow when I left. Finally I got called by Charlottes mom because they had to get her little brothers haircut. I sadly walked out the door.I walked to my house and sat there. I didn't have anything to do except pack what little I had left in my room. Then I went to bed early.

My alarm woke my up at 7:07 am and I quickly got dressed and ran downstairs. I knew Charlotte would be waiting for me outside. I dashed out there and found her whole family with a surprise gift, a new flat screen t.v. because ours was old and out of shape. I just stood there and cried for a while, hugging Charlotte. Finally my mom said "Come on Mia, we have to go now, our plane leaves in an hour." I quietly walked to our can and hopped inside. After one quick wave we were off. I looked sadly out the window and said my last goodbye to California.

  Today I arrived at my new house in Kentucky. I live on Charlotte Lane, which makes me want to move back more than ever. I unpack my bags and check on my twin sister, Leah. She is in the room next to mine and is unpacking her things as well. "Well, don't you miss California?" I asked. "Mia, sometimes we just have to move on in life. I don't care if we live in Alaska for Pete's sake, I just want change. Not this old simple life that most people live. I don't want to be normal, I want to be different." Leah answered with determination in her voice. I sort of understood her. I decided to pack all of my stuff up for school. We both start tomorrow at Canterlot High School. I pick out a summery see through blue shirt and a black dance skirt. Leah Picked out a white strapless top and a super short black skirt. I looked at the clock and it wAs 7:07.

  *Beep* *Beep* *Beep* My alarm went off. well, time for school, I thought. Leah and I ate breakfast and rushed out the door to the school. Since we only live 5 minutes away we can walk. Leah and I got to school jus in time. We walked to the front office together to get our schedules. "Hi, I'm Mia And this is my sister Leah, we were wondering if you had our schedules." I said. " yes, Here they are, Mia here's yours and there's Leahs." a lady said. " Thank you." Leah said. " Your very welcome." she replied. As soon as we got farther down the hall I asked " Leah, what's your schedule?" "Uhhh... well I have P.E. for first period---" I cut her off " so do I."  So we walked to P.E together. We got inside and Leah said " Hey look, it's those girls from yesterday that asked me to go to the mall." Then she ran off to them and left me alone. I didn't know anyone, but a tall girl with red hair and green eyes looked nice, she was sitting alone at a table. So that's when I decided to sit with her. "Hi." I said as I sat down. "Hi." she replied. "My name is Mia Everfree, what's yours?" I asked.

  "I'm Zoe Wood." she replied. "I'm new here so I dont have a lot of friends." "Unlike you", she continued," You must have lots of friends, your pretty, your kind, and I saw some of the most popular girls eyeballing you, which means they are jealous." "I am new too actually." I replied. "Oh, then on the other hand, wanna hang out sometime." Sure, why not?" I said. "Ok  everyone.... I am Mr. Webb and I will be teaching P.E. this year." Mr. Webb said. "Today we will be playing soccer." "I will put you on teams, boys vs boys, girls vs girls." Most of the girls groaned including me but Zoe seemed excited to play. " Girls team #1, Alison, Sophia, Zoe, Kayla, Riley, and Mia." "Yay!!!, we are on the same team." we squealed. "Girls team #2, Jasmine, Portia, Megan, Kaylee, Ariana, and Katherine." Mr. Webb said.
