Ch 5: Gideon's first night in Zootopia

Fern's P.O.V

"But I thought you still needed time to get things settled back at home?" I said glaring at him. He chuckles and scratches the back of his head. "Well I finished everything off a bit early a-and...I missed you. Oh also I brought you this." He then showed me a pan of pastries, blueberry flavored?!?

My face beams with joy. "These look delicious! Come on let's get inside so you can see the place!" I said. He walks in and admires the place. "Everyone, this is my pastry partner Gideon! Who is going to help me run this place." I said introducing him to our guest.

"Hey, Gideon." Nick said. Then he noticed the blueberry pastry. This is how Nick and I started to connect when first meeting each other, our love for blueberries. He nearly drools over it. "Nick! Hurry up and take one before you ruin all of it for everyone else." Judy said as she punched his arm.

He gladly took one and devoured it. Judy and I took one and as I held the pastry in my mouth I grabbed the pan from Gideon and placed it with the rest of the sample foods. I take a good bite out of the pastry and I was in heaven.

"Even if it took you a while to get here, the pastry still taste so warm." I said in delight. "Hey cotton tail. Who's this?" I turn and see Vincent. Where was he when I introduced Gideon to everyone?

"Oh hey Vincent. This is Gideon. My best friend from home who helped me out with this whole bakery idea." I said. Not even realizing the tension in the room.

Gideon's P.O.V

I glare at this Vincent guy. I place a slight protective hand on Fern's shoulder. But then put a fake smile, holding my hand out to shake. "Nice to meet you." I said. He then grabs my hand and shakes it, but also squeezes it. "The names Vincent, pleased time meet you." He said smiling but it was obviously a dark aura around him. "Hey Ferny, why don't you show me the place?" I said smiling sweetly at Fern. She beams with joy and drags me towards the stairs that lead to the living portion of the building.

"Vincent, take care of things down here for a bit while I give Gideon a tour." She said. I give him a wicked look and smirk at him. He glared at me as Fern and I disappeared up the stairs.

Once we got to the top of the stairs there was a door. She takes the keys attached to a pink bunny printed lanyard and unlocks the door.
