Anastaisia POV

************************************

After Conall and his father, Maccon, leave the pack doctor unhooks the medical tubes from my body. I know from experience that the clothes I was wearing when I got to the hospital would be placed in the bathroom. I slowly walk into the bathroom and take off the hospital gown I was wearing. After quickly changing back into my clothes I look in the small mirror above the sink. I know by tomorrow my complexion won't be so bad.

I will forever be grateful that Mr. Lyall let my step uncle Chance Mathew, the beta, change me into a wolf a week after I was born. Mr. Lyall said that he could tell one day I would be important in their world, so to keep me alive they changed me into a wolf. I know most people say that whoever changed me is a monster, but if my uncle hadn't changed me, my cancer would have slowly killed me. When I was born the doctors said it was unlikely that I would live past ten years old. Even though I was changed I still almost dies when I was ten, but my dad did something to save me while he died in my place.

I quickly shake the thoughts off knowing that if I didn't, I would start to cry and get depressed. I know everyone is hoping when I find my mate, they are even hoping it happens on my birthday, that it will help my wolf be stronger and fully get rid of the cancer.

"Anna you almost done?" my mom asks while knocking on the bathroom door. I know she hates seeing me in a hospital because it just reminds her that even though she agreed to me becoming a wolf I am still dying.

"Yeah, I'm done just got lost in thought," I reply as I walk out of the bathroom. I smile at my mom before picking up my backpack.

"Let's go home and eat some food," my mom says smiling at me as we walk out the door. Once we get out of the hospital and into my mom's car, I couldn't stop thinking about what Conall said.

'Samantha what would happen if our mate rejects us?' I ask my wolf. I know most normally talk a lot with their wolves, but I don't because I know for my wolf it just takes more out of her.

'No mate can't. kills us slowly if does,' Samantha says quietly, like a whisper.

'Then let us hope our mate is not in this pack,' I say then shut off the link.

After Conall said he would most likely reject me if I was his mate, I figured everyone in his pack would as well.

"Sweetie, what are you thinking about?" my mom asks as she drives us home.

"Just how I really hope mt mate is not in this pack," I tell her honestly, looking out the window.

"Why do you want that?" My mother asks as we pull into our driveway.

"I just do," I sat getting out of the car and heading for the front door.

"Okay..." my mom says sounding a little unsure. She unlocks the door and holds it open fir me. I know my mom and everyone that knows of my cancer can tell it is getting worse like it had in the past.
