Alec sat at his desk, sorting through papers when a knock at the door brought his attention up to it. Jace came in without confirmation and sat on the other side of the desk. He pursed his lips and met Alec's eyes.
"Any news?" Alec asked, hopeful.
Jace shook his head slowly. "No. I would have came rushing here as quickly as I could if there had been. Alec, I'm so sorry. I know how this must feel for you. But trust me, I'm sure Magnus will be fine."
Alec shook his head and looked down at his intertwined fingers that sat in his lap. He shrugged and shook his head hopelessly. "That's not what I'm worried about. I did some research. Can you round up Clary, Izzy, Simon, and Luke?"
Jace frowned but nodded. "Yeah. I'll do that now."
Alec smiled painfully as Jace stood and left the room.

"The city is in a lot more danger than we realized," Alec started. "I did some research on possession with Warlocks and things like that, and the quantity of the danger is much larger than previous demon possessions."
Clary leaned forward, placing her palms flat on the table. "You mean Magnus is in more danger? or us?"
"Did you not hear me?" Alec asked angrily. "The city is in danger. Magnus could--"
Alec cut himself off, aware of how his anger and fear cut through his emotions much to easily. He took a deep breath and looked back up at Clary. "Magnus is very powerful. You all know that. But it seems that when a Warlock is possessed, there Magic is doubled, even tripled in power. Now, I think for all of us, Magnus is one of the most powerful Warlock we've ever met. So..."
Alec shook his head, unable to speak the words. Izzy stepped forward and placed a reassuring hand on his back. "So Magnus is most likely more powerful than even the most powerful Warlock. And beside Asmodeus... they'll be unstoppable."

Clary walked away from the meeting with fear. She didn't want to think that Magnus was gone. But there was a significant part of her that said he was. That said he was gone and never coming back. But there was also a small sliver of hope somewhere in there. It was small, but there. He was still Magnus, she told herself. But the part of Clary's mind that thought otherwise won.

Jace knew what he wanted to do as soon as he saw the terrified helplessness on Alec's face. He needed to find Magnus, and try and bring him back. Jace didn't really have much faith in his ability's to win over a possessed over-powered Warlock and his crazy father. But one must always try. So here Jace was, ducking around corners and into shadows when he came across someone.
Jace also had a Seraph blade hidden behind his back.
When he got to the final corner that lead to the door to the outside, he sighed and moved towards it, but was surprised to see Alec walking towards the door himself. Alec glanced over his shoulder before slipping out the door. Jace frowned and followed him. Outside, Alec was speed-walking down the street.
"Alec," Jace said.
Alec jumped and spun around, his gaze landing on the Seraph blade in Jaces grip. His brows drew together.
"What are you doing?" He asked Jace.
Jace scoffed. "I was going to ask you that."
Alec's adams apple bobbed and he looked around. "I was going to go and find Magnus. I was thinking I could try and talk to him. Bring him back," Alec frowned again. "Were you going to try and do the same? Because honestly, I don't think that Magnus would listen to you without being possessed."
"I'm not really the talking type anyway. I was thinking a little more forceful."
Alec's lip curved up a little. "He wouldn't let you."
"Yeah, I'm rethinking my tactic at the moment. Which involves both of us coming inside and figuring out a plan with the others."
"Jace. I cant do that. I need Magnus. If he gets hurt..."
Jace could see Alec's shudder from where he stood. Jace started to walk towards Alec slowly. "I think if you go to try and help him, then Asmodeus will either hurt you, or Magnus. Which do you think would be more painful?"
Alec looked up and Jace. "Do you think he'll try and hurt him?"
"No. From what I've heard of Magnus's father, he has tried everything to get Magnus back. And now that he has Magnus under his control, he wont give that up easily. If anything, Asmodeus will hurt him to get to you. So we cant let that happen."
