As I get out, I run across the woods in search of finding my mate. I was so excited. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE I WAS SEVEN!!!!!! I noticed I tripped on a branch. Oops. My clumsiness was getting the best of me today. Oh well.
I searched everywhere and my wolf, Eva, was exhausted. Then...... It happened. I saw this boy with light green eyes, shaggy brown hair who gave me a one hundred and one watt smile. I didn't feel a connection..... Before I could shift to my human form.
I fainted...

I awoke from my dream... No my nightmare. I didn't find my mate.
I could feel that I was not on the ground but I don't open my eyes. I could feel a blanket on me and a pillow next to me. I snuggled into the pillow and attempted to pull it closer. Didn't I say attempted? Well it wouldn't come closer it's like it was...... A stomach?
I shot my eyes opened and saw that same guy in the forest. His light green eyes went to my blues. What happened?
"What happened?" I ask out loud.
"Well sweetheart," he's starts,"You fainted right after you saw me."
I felt heat going through my face. 'Wait a minute.... Why am I blushing for someone I don't know and I also don't know where he's taking me?
"Where are you taking me!?" I ask sounding really pissed off although I was sad on the inside.
"Back to your pack of course." He says like he wouldn't do anything,"What's your name princess?"
Did he just call me princess? I can't believe it!!!
"That's none of your business!" Then turn the other way.
"Ooh. Feisty little red head I see. Well I'm Lucas. Nice to meet ya."
I didn't reply.
"Just take me home." I croaked out. I was on the verge of tears. All I could think of was that 'This should have been my mate holding me like this.'

By the time I got to the pack house, Lucas had finally let me go. I saw his shirt fall off from the front of me. I felt a hot blush come across my face.
"Can I have my shirt back please? Or do you want to keep it as a souvenir for our time together?"he said.
How. Dare. He!!!!!
I threw the shirt at his head and quickly made my way to my room.

I cried. I sobbed. I bawled. All the things that made me weak. I felt like complete crap. Then that's when I heard a knock at the door.
"C-come in." I said meekly. I wiped my eyes just in time before seeing Amber. Her honey blonde hair in a big bun and her translucent big brown eyes. And her lips formed a frown.
"Why is the birthday girl crying on her birthday?" She said with as much sorrow as I did.
"I didn't find him. My mate. My everything."I said in barely a whisper.
"Is that all?" She said questioning me. She still didn't understand
"How could you not understand!!!! It's my only dream is to have a mate. Let him mark me, get married and start a family of our own!!!!!! I've been planning everything since I was seven and you know that!!!!!! And you don't even understand." I start to cry. Again.
She starts to give me a bear hug and I hug her back.
"It's okay. Hopefully tomorrow. Besides, today is your birthday. You only turn eighteen once right? I mean I want you to be happy because that's what you deserve. But you also need to have fun with the girl that have been with you since diapers!!!! Honestly girl! Live a little." She gave me another tight squeeze.
"Now I better see you down stairs in thirty minutes. Do your hair,make up, and a dress you can go clubbing in" she said and gave me a wink at the end then went out the door.
Hmm. Thirty minutes to redo my hair because I have about one thousand pine needles in it, re-shower because I smell like dirt, and then pick out a small dress. Wow. Only thirty minutes. Better get started.
I start to strip off all of my clothes and then went into the shower. I used my body wash and shampoo then got out of the shower and look at my hair in the mirror. It was huge with all of its curls. I looked like Merida from Brave. It's so weird looking. I of course straighten it and then I try to find something. Hmm. I put on a dress. Gold sequence and creme lace right after my belly button. Went down right before My knee. Perfect. I have five more minutes to get downstairs?
"Scarlet! You have five minutes to get your butt out here!!"
So I did what Amber said and found her wearing a salmon cardigan and light wash high wasted jeans.
"Ooh. Love that dress Scar. Perfect for tonight." Said Amber then she winked at me.
" You too Am. You going with Mark?" I asked her.
Mark is her on and off again boyfriend which gives me whiplash whenever they break up. I wonder if they are still together this week?
"No. Ugh. He is such a jerk. I am never getting back with him again." says Am.
Hmm. Figures.
"Are you at least going to invite Tony?" I asked the did my puppy dog face hoping that she did ask considering that Tony is our best friends.
"Of course," then rolls her eyes," Do I look stupid? How are we not gonna bring a gay guy to a club with us?"
"I heard that!" said a familiar voice.
Right on que, Tony walks through the door.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCAR!!!!!" Tony exclaimed and then engulfed me in a hug.
If Tony wasn't gay, all the girls at my school would swoon over him. He was 6'2 with dark black hair and grey brown eyes. He had on a red and black flannel and brown slacks. He did look pretty spiffy.
After he was done hugging me,he gave me necklace that said 'My Elmo'. It made me remember when we were in 1st grade and he kept calling me his Elmo and played with strands of my hair. Sure it irritated the hell out of me but as I got older, we laughed about it. My tears started to well up as I hugged him once again.
"Thanks Tony."
"Anything for you Elmo." He said.
Then I playfully hit him on the elbow.
"Hey, I'm still here. Are you guys like.... Ready now?" asked Amber.
"Oh shut up train wreck." stated Tony.
"Make me." said Amber. Then she stuck her tongue out.
"Maybe I will" says Tony back.
"W-" starts Amber
"Will you guys please stop this. You do it everyday. It's my birthday and I would like you guys to be nice to each other once. Please?"I say.
"Fine." They said in unison then gave each other the evil glare . They hate when they say stuff at the same time. So do I. This is usually when the fight starts to happen and it goes on for hours. But not tonight. Tonight was going to be the best night ever. And I was going to make sure of this.
"Come along little one."says Amber.
Then we descend into the car getting ready to go to the club.
