Loki’s POV
I trotted around this small village, looking for a certain Ninetales. I checked multiple alleyways for the light-yellow vulpine, but there was no avail.
I let out a disappointed sigh as I sulked back to our shared cottage. Taking the long way there, I let my thoughts engulf me.
What if something happened to her? What if she’s hurt? What if someone kidnapped her? I let out a soft whimper, my ears flicking back softly.
I took a glance around my surroundings, my gaze searching for any little sign of the quadrupedal fox. Realization suddenly hit me.
What if Sam is back? Fuck no… She can’t be back… My walk quickened to a run. If Sam is back… No… She can’t go back. We can’t go back. Too much shit happened back then… I sighed, continuing on my trek home.
Upon arriving, I sulked into the cottage.
“Alice?” I called out.
I heard a crash in the kitchen.
“Alice…?” I whimpered out meekly, trotting towards the noise.
Once I entered, I noticed a familiar bipedal Pokemon. Growling, I stalked towards it.
“Ahh!” she shrieked, facing me. “L-Loki-! Please don’t hurt me!”
“Why are you here?!” I snapped, glaring at the vulpine.
The fox stood up, dusting her fur off. “It’s about Alice… She kinda maybe sorta got into a brawl with Sam… She did it to protect you! But Sam came out victorious and left her to die…”
I growled again, before speaking, “Sammy, where did you see them? Where is Alice? I need to help her!”
Sammy’s ears flicked back softly and her gaze lowered. “I-I don’t know if Alice is still there or if she’s even alive anymore…” she commented quietly. “B-But! That doesn’t mean she didn’t survive!” she reassured, noticing my depressed look.
I let out a quiet whimper, pacing back and forth.
“Loki?” she asked quietly, looking at me. “You doing okay?”
I shook my head before saying, “Take me to where you saw Sam and Alice fight.”
“I don’t thi-”
“If you don’t, then I’m going to go out and find Alice myself!” I growled out, snarling softly.
“Loki, listen to me!” she hollered, gaining my attention. “Sam is strong,” she started, making sure I was listening. “You already know that, but now she’s a lot stronger than when she was months ago during her killing game. It’s not wise to go after her. So stop acting rashly.”
“But wasn’t she rash?! Going head-first into danger to protect me?!”
“Y-Yes…”
“Then let me go help her.”
“Fine, follow me…” she gave in, shuffling out the door.
I followed after her, my ears pricking up at any little sound. Sammy seemed hesitant in every step, looking around for any sign of Sam or Alice.

Alice’s POV
Everything is dark…
Nothing is here…
Is this how it ends?
Is being killed by a psychopathic Braixen really how I die? I survived the killing game, and this is how it ends?
Loki, if I don’t survive, I love you…
Frantic footsteps surrounded me as I slowly lost conscientiousness.
Who could that be? Is it Sam to end me for sure? No… She is a ruthless bitch...
“Alice?” I heard Loki ask.
So Loki is who came… I gave a slight smile. Maybe there is hope… Maybe I won’t die here…
I felt someone lightly shaking me before sitting beside me. “Alice… Come on… Wake up…” Loki muttered quietly.
I tried to open my eyes, but there was no avail.
She sounds so broken… If I didn’t do this though, Sam would’ve killed Loki…
I rested one of my tails on her lap, as a sign that I’m still alive.
I’m still alive, Loki, don’t worry…
I tried opening my eyes again, this time I slowly succeeded.
The first thing I saw was the blue eyes of a Zoroark. I smiled weakly at her, wincing anytime I moved.
“Why the fuck did you do that? You’re an idiot!” she growled out, though her gaze was filled with worry. She then nuzzled against me softly. “I thought I lost you…”
I shifted softly, resting my head in her lap.
“I… I’m sorry…” I said weakly. “I did it to protect you… She would’ve killed you! I had to do something!”
She gently placed her paw on my head, sighing softly. “I know why you did it, but if I lost you, I don’t know what I’d do. You’ve kept me sane since we got out of that hell. I’d lose my mind if you died, then I’d do something I know I would regret,” she muttered. “I love you, you know?”
I nodded slightly, not finding the energy to speak. I slowly sat up, resting my head on her shoulder. Loki gave me a slight smile, wrapping an arm around me. We both sat in silence and watched the sunset together.

Loki’s POV
Before it could get too dark, I helped Alice home.
She was too close to death for my liking… Even if it was to protect me. She didn't need to risk her life.
I glanced at the Ninetales lying next to me and smiled softly. I eventually decided to lie next to her, wrapping my arms around the quadruped.
She is who I'll spend my time with from this day forward.
