School entrance exams usually didn't involve loud explosions and robots, though if you were to ask the newest self-proclaimed best UA Academy student Katsuki Bakugou, the answer you would get would be along the lines of, 'No shit'.
Normal high school entrance exams of course wouldn't have robots or means of blowing up those robots, but this was UA, the top school for any aspiring hero. This would now be the new norm, and that was exactly what Bakugou was hoping for. Though this much was mere child's play in comparison to the newfound journey into the world of professional heroes. After all, how could he not be an expert at blowing robots up when his Quirk was literally titled as "Explosion". It was like this exam was designed for him to tailor.
So far his count was 58, but with a swipe of his one arm, he took out another one that was almost out of his reach, but could not evade the distance of the explosion. With a confident smirk on his face, Bakugou could easily tell by the scrambled looks of the others in his exam group that they were struggling to keep up with him, trying to deny admitting that it was an impossible goal. He could stop at this point, fairly certain he secured his rightful place within the UA hero course, but that was not his style. Bakugou never settled for anything but a complete and utterly crushing victory. That's when he saw another robot coming into sight.
He began to make his way towards the new target, his hand clawed out in his usual stance. He was ready to add this one in his already growing pile of scrap metal for a total of 60, figuring no one could stop his rise to the top now. He was on the rising path to fame, glory, and more importantly, admiration.
That's when Bakugou suddenly noticed a shadow engulf the ground below him. Someone had leapt above him.
"Excuse me," A quiet, monotone voice of a girl said. Looking up, the culprit above him was a notably smaller girl, brown hair tied in two twin tails that rested on her shoulders. In her hands seemed to be a comically large hammer, similar to something within a video game, using it to smash what would have been his 60th kill before he could reach it.
The girl touched her feet back down to the ground in front of the smashed robot, turning around and meeting Bakugou's crimson colored eyes with her own milky brown eyes for the very first time. There was a saying that, in moments of fated encounters that connected two people together, the first words uttered between them would define that connection. Neither one of them could comprehend the movement by the hands of fate and where it would leave these two. However, as destiny began to set their lives into a direction that will change both of them forever, the starting line began with the first greeting between them.
"...Hey, you bug-eyed extra! That was mine!" Bakugou growled in apparent irritation.
The bug-eyed insult, the girl assumed, had to do with the round gold-rimmed glasses on her face. That, in turn, was honestly the only notable thing that Bakugou could point out about her. Between her height, built, hair and eye color, every part of this girl in front of him seemed utterly average. That, though, in a world of superpowered humans, was kind of weird in itself. Did someone that average actually really exist in this world?
Despite the insult and raised voice to her, the girl looked at him with a rather neutral, if not deadpan, expression on her face. It didn't seem like his words bothered her at all, which in turn only made Bakugou angrier. What really set him off, however, was the fact that the girl turned her back and seemed prepared to leave without even saying anything back to him.
"Hey! I was talking to you!" Bakugou yelled, stomping towards her as she moved farther away, "You couldn't find another one that I wasn't clearly going for, you damn bug-eyed-!"
"How could I?" The girl asked, stopping short in her tracks and turning around to glance over her shoulder, the stone-cold expression on her face still having not changed, "You're the one who took out most of them already, aren't you?"
