Beyond The Grave
I opened my eyes to find myself lying on a couch, it was black velvet, the cushions that my head rested on were a golden colour and very soft to the touch. When I gained enough strength to sit up, an usher walked over to me with a smile, she was wearing the classic red uniform, her hair tied in a curly ponytail. "Hello! My name is Connie and I am a personal usher for your line of incarnation" she introduced herself. "If you would kindly follow me this way to room 112,567, I will answer all your enquiries once we enter the room," she said walking towards the room.
Connie told me to choose a seat in any row. I decided to sit next to a woman who looked similar to me, she had a scar running down her face and wore a military uniform. Being the happy-go-lucky person I am, I turned towards her and started to introduce myself, "Hello! My name is Flora, what is your name? She turned around and faced me with shock in her eyes, but kept a straight face and responded to my question
"Hello Flora, my name is Kim, nice to meet you".
"Hi, Kim may I ask where are we?" I questioned.
"From what I've asked Connie, we are in limbo currently,"
"We are to watch at least a thousand incarnations before we are sent into the judgement hall," she says in a smile that doesn't fit her tone.
"Ah...So may I ask about that scar on your face?",
"I-" she hesitated, " I got this when I was out on the field," "About a thousand of my men died in that attack, a hundred were severely injured and I left with the scar" She sniffled.
"I died on duty from multiple shot wounds, and I left my sweet little girl behind" Kim sobbed out.
I rested my hand on her shoulder and told her that I also had left my little angel behind as well.
