*Niall's P.O.V.*

"Love you too, Niall." Carmen said as she hung up the phone. Uhhh I really wanted to be able to hangout with her today. But honestly, I was feeling horrible. My throat hurt, I had a really bad cough, I felt faint and dizzy whenever I stood up and it felt like I was running a fever. And to be honest, I've been feeling like this for the last few days. Today was the worst it's ever gotten. I know it sounds kinda crazy to hide a sickness from everyone, but it was mostly because of Liam. Liam Payne, my best friend since third grade. We're both 19 now, we go to  the same collage and we live in a flat together. Anyways, Liam is such a worrier and takes everything way too seriously. I waited until this morning to tell him how I was feeling, and he made me stay home, which wasn't surprising. Liam was kind of a father-figure to me, now that I don't live with my parents anymore. He takes care of me, he's the one who goes grocery shopping, and sometimes I even feel the need to get his permission before I go places, which sounds crazy considering he's only a few weeks older than me.

After a while of just laying down on my bed, I realized that my forehead felt really warm. I decided to call Liam in, figuring I should have my temperature taken.

"Liammmmm!" I tried to yell, but it just made my throat feel worse. He rushed into my room within 30 seconds of me calling him,

"Yes, Niall?"

I tried sitting up but couldn't. I fell right back down onto my pillow.

"Can you take my temperature? I feel really warm." I whispered hoarsly. He nodded as he came over to my bedside and sat down. I placed his hand on my forehead. His had felt cool compared to my burning forehead.

"Geez, Niall! You're burning up!" He said, with obvious worry in his voice. He took out the thermometer and placed it in my ear and waited for the beep. When it did, he tested out my other ear. It beeped once again and he took it out. He looked at the temperature reading and his mouth fell open.

"What?" I asked trying to sit up, but couldn't once again.

"Niall, you're at 102.8 degrees!" Liam said, ripping off my covers I had on.

"What are you doing? I'm cold!" I said trying to get my covers back from him.

"Listen to me," Liam started. "if you get up to 103 degrees I'm taking you to the hospital. I know you feel cold but your body is burning up. I'm going to run you a cool bath and make you some soup alright?" He said, in a serious matter.

"The hospital? Liam, it's fine I just have got the flu. You don't need to be worrying so much." I said trying to keep my cool, but the truth was I was freaking out inside more than he was. My mom works in a hospital and I've heard of too many cases were someone comes in for something simple and they leave after getting diagnosed with some life-threatening disease. I know that it probably won't happen to me, of all people. But still, I'm paranoid.

'Niall! Your bath is running, get over here!" Liam yelled from the bathroom, which was right across the hall from my bedroom.

"Ughhhh" I moaned. I really just wanted to rest. But I guess I'll take a quick bath to drop my temperature if that means no hospital. I tried to sit up once again, barley making it, but I did. I was sitting with my legs hanging over one side of the bed. I was already feeling dizzy and about ready to throw up. I needed Liam here to help me, but him being the worrier that he is, he would call the ambulance or something. I took a deep breath, "Okay Niall, you can do this." I encouraged myself. I set my legs on the ground and stood up, regaining my balance by leaning on the dresser right next to my bed. My legs were wobbly and I could hardly stand. I took one step forward and fell to the ground.

"Ahhhh!" I yelled. I was in pain. i had been laying in bed for at least 10 hours and falling face first on my wooden bedroom floor definitely did not feel good at all.

"Niall?!" Liam yelled from the bathroom. I heard the water stop and he ran right into my room, seeing me on the floor rolled up in a ball, wincing in pain.

"Are you okay? Here, stand up." Liam said grabbing my hand, expecting me to get right up.

"Thanks Liam. I'm okay thou-" I was right in the middle of reassuring Liam that I was fine, when I felt it. It felt as if someone took a knife and shoved it through my heart. This was probably the most pain I had ever experienced in my life.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" I yelled out once again. Right after I yelled, my chest tightened up. It was hard to talk, let alone breathe.

"Niall, tell me what happened!" Liam yelled, firming his grip on my hand.

"M-m-my chest... it hurts." I said, barely getting it out. It was extremely painful to talk. I could feel myself getting dizzier, if that was even possible. I closed my eyes, thinking it would help.  it was getting harder and harder to breathe. Just then I could feel my heart speed up. My heart was pounding in my chest. I was scared. I was really scared. Was I dying? Is this what it feels like when you die?

"Liam, is this wh-a-a-t it feels like to die?" I asked him, immediately regretting it. I didn't think I was dying. I shouldn't have worried him like that. Crap... too late, I thought as Liam's eyes widened and his face went pale has he practically froze up.

Liam grabbed his cellphone and dialed a number, not letting go of my hand.

"9-1-1? Yes, I'm going to need an ambulance."

And that, was when I blacked out.
