  Demi's POV

How do I always find myself in these situations? Sitting in empty lots at odd hours of the night lately has become part of the routine that I put myself in ever since I moved to this town for my best friend (I use that term loosely) because if you really thought about most friends wouldn’t ever put you in really dangerous situations that could get you killed. And usually , people have the common sense to say no. I don’t have any or  , like I said I wouldn’t be in this situation right now. Expect this time I am stuck without  waiting in the car , I need to stand outside and be their watch dog just in case something goes wrong  (since nothing ever ever goes wrong with drug deals , obviously ). Although I do praise her for not making me go in because my mouth would get us both killed I still don’t see how it is beneficial to this certain deal.   Or special as how she described it to me. Before long I noticed a Black Mercedes pull up from around  the  back and I jump up alerted until I notice it was my car. Booking it out of the lot without me - I turn around rushing over to the abandoned building

“Kristal?!!” I called out…no answer  - it finally hit me she left..without me. “God damn it Kristal!”  She pulled shit on me all the time but this is low even for her. I make my way back out to the lot  , what am I supposed to do..my phone was in the car so there was no way of calling for a ride. I remembered there was a gas station down the block. I have no idea if it is still open but I guess it might be worth a shot. I at least want to be somewhere safer. I begin to walk to the gas station , she would pay for this.  I don’t know why I ever came out here to try and revive some friendship that is toxic anyways. Maybe it’s because it’s all I have , and at a point we did understand each other. It wasn’t always like this from what I can remember…but even that wasn’t much. I get to the gas station , which it in itself wasn’t more appealing than the other building. I bite the side of my life walking over to the entrance..thank god it was open I lt out a sigh of relief and made my way in. It was dark , “Hello?” I look around for anybody…it was like it was dead , maybe the counter? I walk over to the desk to find a man sleeping  “Um excuse me…” I tapped the counter in order to get his attention “Excuse me…” I repeated myself.

“Huh…?” He yawns looking up at me “I’m so sorry miss..what can I do to help you?”
“Do you have a phone I could use?” I ask hopeful  “Actually..the phone here is out of order , we’re having someone come fix it in the morning..I wasn’t expecting anyone this late..is there anything you need…?”

Great…of course this would happen “Um..no , i’m fine…” I look down at a rack  that had bags of chips , I reached over grabbing a bag of Takis. “I would like to get some of these though please…” I slid it over to him so I could pull out some money from my pocket as he rung it up., at that moment someone comes up right next to me. I look at him as I handed the cashier my money and he looked back at me smiling “Hey..I saw you walking over here..”
“Oh..you did…” I took the bag and faced towards him “I didn’t notice you at all”
“You know most people come to the gas station with their car..I noticed you were walking here?”
“Well , most people don’t try to indulge in others business..” I started to walk off
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to be rude..it’s just not really safe out there you know? But where are my manners…I’m Justin…”
I paused and turned around staring at him for a moment “Demi…i’m Demi…”
“Demi…” He noted to himself , staring at what was in my hand “Oh my god are those Takis? I love Takis..” He took them from me acting enthused  “No..I don’t really…what are they?” He handed them back to me
“You’ve never had these before? You’re missing out..but..they’re like mini taquitos..” I hesitated trying to explain them…mini taquitos is that really the best I could do.
“Well…i’d like to Taki to you on the phone..’ He winked at me giving me this goofy smile.   I have to admit this one caught me off guard  I laughed and returned a smile “You’re going to have to try harder than that….” I turned around and walked over to the front door. He was cute…really cute but it’s nothing I’m looking for anything right now. For however many minutes past by I just remembered I still don’t have a ride…I would be more than happy to walk…if my house wasn’t on the other end of town. I groaned and looked back at the door…this was my only choice.
