This is my first attempt at Poetry let me know what you think good bad or otherwise.
From France and Europe the Templars came ,
to take up the cross on Gods own name.
Their allegiance to the pope was owed,
they swore to protect the pilgrim road.
Across the sands the armies came,
spreading terror with their fame.
With sword and shield and cross of red,
across the desert Gods enemies fled.
The Horns of Hattin the hoard knew well,
the soldiers of God by the thousands fell.
Many knights in sand interred,
never more their secrets heard.
The Holy Cities gates were breached,
The Kingdom of Heaven was never reached.
Popes and Kings their greed known well,
sent Europe's sons to a pit of hell.
