Kurt Hummel is an excellent teacher at Dalton academy, in fact he was an excellent student at Dalton as well one was. Kurt was Dalton's show choir, the warblers, coach and French teacher. Kurt was almost as fluent in French than he is in English making him perfect to teach at this prep school where he had so many memories where he was just as youthful as these young men. Now he was just a teacher, his dreams dead and his future shot.
Sebastian Smythe was captain of the warblers and captain of the lacrosse team he also had a hand in many other clubs and extra curricular activities. One subject he excelled in was French. He did used to live in Paris after all.
Sebastian sauntered into early morning warblers practice a little late. Just enough for Mr. Hummel to notice him, "Sebastian how nice of you to finally join us ." Sebastian smirked and took his seat on one of the couches. He liked it when Mr. Hummel noticed him it made him feel like they had a connection. Once Wes Thad and Hunter spent the whole practice squabbling Over the set list like children fighting over their toys it was time for their first period.
Sebastian has a free period and decided to work on his French assignment in the warbler commons. He liked working there it was so familiar to him so as all the other boys started spilling out of the commons and to they're respective classes Sebastian pulled out his French assignment. What he hadn't noticed was that Mr. Hummel hadn't left yet. "Your pronunciation is beautiful" Mr. Hummel stayed watching as Sebastian jumped. Sebastian thought he heard him chuckle at that. He grinned widely "thank you sir. I um lived in Paris for a while with my parents and picked up a few things" Sebastian wasn't used to this kind of conversation with his teachers it was nice especially because of who it was with. "So are you skipping class? Should I be reporting you?" Mr. Hummel asked with a hint of teasing to his voice that made Sebastian smile subconsciously. "No sir I um I have a free period I guess it pays to be a good student I've handed most of my assignments in already." Sebastian bragged "What about you sir playing bookie to get out of teaching those God awful freshmen?" Sebastian teased back and there it was he couldn't mistake it this time Mr. Hummel chuckled at him. "Actually no I'm also free myself I don't teach freshmen often most of them couldn't keep up with me if they tried. Hell a lot of the sophomores I teach can't keep up with me but you you can it makes me feel a hell of a lot better about my job" Mr. Hummel laughs and Sebastians heart tingles at the thought of the compliment.
"So what are your plans for the weekend Mr. Smythe? Going to see the folks?" Sebastian freezes up at the mention of his parents. They still live in Paris and he doesn't really have the best relationship with them. Especially his homophobic father. Sebastian usually goes to a gay bar on the outskirts of Lima the club basically boarders Lima and Westerville. It's called scandals but he can hardly mention that to his French teacher/glee club coach. "Umm No I won't be seeing my parents they still live in Paris I usually just hang out with some of the other warblers or complete my homework." "What no girlfriend? To keep you company from the girls school not far from here?" Mr. Hummel asks and he actually sounds genuinely interested. "Actually Mr. Hummel I'm gay. I'm surprised you don't know I don't try to hide it." When Sebastian said that it dawned on Kurt all of the inappropriate comments Sebastian has made towards warblers and other students. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to assume. I hope I didn't offend you." Mr. Hummel grovels. "Oh no it's fine you didn't. How could you if it's an honest mistake." Mr. Hummel smiles sheepishly at Sebastian and the bell signals the start of the next period.
