It was a cold and rainy afternoon and you were laying on your bed reading your favourite book (f/b) but after a good thirty minutes you got bored and looked around your room for anything else to do.

"Damn....I swear whenever I have spare time I can think of nothing to do but when I have homework I can think of thousands of things I'd rather be doing...." You groaned and sat up on your bed, Just glaring out the window, bored as hell. You decided that it would be best to go downstairs and maybe outside for a bit instead of just staying inside your room all day.

You got out of your pyjamas and threw on a black hoodie, grey trousers and black boots. You weren't particularly the most happiest person, mostly because in your old school people picked on you....a lot....thats why your parents decided it would be best to put you in a new school, which you started tomorrow.

As you moped down the stairs like a sad sack of potatoes your cat Mepo walked down with you and brushed your leg, this made you smile...Mepo was a cute cat and she always made you feel better, the reason why she is named Mepo is because when she was little she used to let out "meps" instead of "meows" you found it really cute.

Your mother heard you swing the door open and walk into the living room

"Ah, I was wondering when you were planning on coming down stairs" she said with a smile, You just smiled in return and nodded before looking at what she was watching on the TV.

"Whats the news going on about this time?" You asked

"Apparently there is this guy dressed as a jester going around Town terrorising people and causing trouble....major trouble apparently, no one knows where he is ans the authorities can't seem to catch him"

"Hmm....Interesting, do they know his name?"

"Nope, not yet....but...If you are planning on going out....please....please be safe" Your mum had a worried expression on her face....the same expression you saw when you came home with a huge punch bruise on your cheek.

You smiled reassuringly at her "I promise mum".

About an hour later the rain had dies down and you thought it was best to go out now so you ate a quick snack, grabbed an umbrella and headed for the door. You unlocked it and stepped out

"See you soon mum!"

"See you soon darling!"

You smiled and closed the door. The sun was still hidden by thick clouds but it was still warm, too warm for your comfort, the heat made your clothes slightly stick to you body from the sweat and it had got to be the most uncomfortable thing you have ever witnessed. You needed to find shade and fast before you melted into goop like a lollipop on a hot summer morning.

After some searching, you found a perfect tree to lay underneath. The bark felt cool on your back causing a small smile of comfort to lay upon your face.

"This is much better...." you sigh with relief. You felt yourself relax, almost falling into a slumber, but something kept you awake, you weren't sure what but you could just feel like someone was staring at you. Strange...

The jester laughed down at the chaos he had caused to the once immaculate roads that held cars at every angle, now it just looked like an earthquake and a tsunami had sucker punched it at the same time, Cars turned over and smashed to bits and citizens running in fear....the whole area looked like a zombie apocalypse had just broke out. The jester was proud of his work, knowing that it would be out for the whole world to see.....they would all fear him and his master soon.....the joker once again let out a loud sinister chuckle before disappearing in a smoke screen of cards. He soon arrived on the top of a building not far from a warm and cute little park, filled with oak trees and a huge assortment of different types of flowers

"Hmmmmm.....people seem to like this place a lot....maybe I should destroy this place next!!!" The jester once again let out a loud laugh before hoping down and hiding behind a bush in the park
"But first....I wanna scare some children! Hehehe...." Rascal sat there and waited but he had no hope....he was about to jump up and destroy this place with a blast of negative energy till.....he saw a girl.....around the age of 15-17, dressed in such miserable clothes, she looked most definitely flushed from heat, a misfit maybe? 'Hmmm.....interesting....'thought the jester. The joker hid back down in the bush and watched as the girl draped in black and grey sat down underneath a tree not too far from the bush he was crouching in. He began to observe your face and began to look intrigued by you, you looked interesting, different and he wanted to know more about you....
'Hmm.....an interesting human.....not greatly cheerful or enjoying the warmth like everyone else, sitting under a tree enjoying its shade....Hmmm.....I like you....you are like....a shadow....yes.....a shadow! Little shadow human' Rascal giggled at his nickname for you 'shadow' It had a nice ring to it. Rascal sat there and watched you relax and tense up, you looked disturbed, most definitely because a chaotic jester was watching you and admiring you from a bush "Maybe you could make a good team mate" Rascal giggled. He was determined to know more about you....you were different and he liked that....he wanted to learn more and he will one way or another. Rascal giggled and once again, disappeared.

You heard a sudden loud noise, making you jump and look around you frantically
"Gah! Calm down (Y/n)......It was probably just a squirrel or something" you stand up slowly and stretch, hearing a few of your bones click making you nearly gag but by some miracle you manage to hold it in.
"Ew....I was not expecting that" you walked around the park for a little longer to admire it, staying in shade as much as possible before deciding that it is best to start heading home.
