A bright future

Author's Point of view:

On a bright, sunny day at Beach City, Connie was at the newly constructed dome at Steven's beach waiting for the half-gem himself to return from homeworld. But she wasn't the only one waiting. With her was an (h/l), (H/c) boy wearing an (f/c) shirt and was around her and Steven's age. His name was (Y/N).

Connie: What's taking him so long?

(Y/N): I'm sure he'll be back at any moment.

Connie: I hope so. I'd hate to leave before giving him a chance to say bye.

(Y/N): I still can't believe you're going to space camp when you've literally been to space already.

Connie: (Chuckles) I know, but it'll be a nice change of pace since we're no longer fighting any gems.

(Y/N)'S Point of View:

I rolled my eyes but smiled as I started to remember when you first met Steven.

Flashback:

I and your family moved to Beach City not too long ago and I wasn't happy about it. It wasn't that I had to leave my friends behind due to the fact that I didn't have many friends because of my former reclusive behavior. But it was because of your parent's job transfer so you didn't have much of a choice. One day my parents suggested that I should go out and try to make some friends. I did go out, but instead of following my parents' wishes I try to find a place where I could be alone, which is why I'm sitting at the beach watching the water roll in and out. It was relaxing listening to the water and feeling the summer breeze on my face. But soon I was taken out of my daydream because of a voice calling to me.

???: Hey!

I got startled and turned to whoever said that only to see a kid that was around my age with curly hair wearing a red t-shirt with a yellow star in the middle and wearing sandals.

???: Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to greet you. My name is Steven.

(Y/N): Uh, hi. I'm (Y/N).

Steven: Are you new here? I don't remember seeing you around here.

(Y/N): Yeah, I moved here with my parents not too long ago.

He then smiled with stars in his eyes.

Steven: That great! Let me show you around. I'm sure your gonna love this place!

He didn't give me a chance to respond as he grabbed your arm and dragged you through the town. By the end of the day, we eventually ended up becoming friends.

End of Flashback:

After that day, my life started to change for the better. I got to meet Steven's dad Greg, Connie, and the gems and began to hang out with them more and more. I even got to go along with them on gem missions and saw many gem ruins and artifacts and even made friends with Bismuth, Lapis, and Peridot. I've learned about them, their past, what they really are, how Steven's mother was a diamond who disguised herself and started a rebellion against her own kind and no one knew except Pearl. He really helped me come out of my shell and I started to see him as a brother, which was great since I was an only child. I chuckle which caught Connie's attention.

Connie: What's so funny?

(Y/N): Nothing, it's so amazing how much of an impact he made on so many lives, both gems and humans alike.

Connie: We've really come a long way, haven't we?

 (Y/N): From hunting corrupted gems to battling against homeworld regular gems to going to homeworld itself. And now, here we are in the future.
