That night...
"Where am I? Why is it so dark?" Sabine thought
"Prepare to die Ezra Bridger" a familiar voice growled.
Sabine turned around to see the town engulfed in flames with Ezra standing in between her and Seventh brother!
"Sabine Run!" Ezra cried!
"No!" Sabine whispered. As she tried to run to Ezra to help him face the Inquisitor but found that her feet would not move.
"Go!" Ezra yelled, just before Seventh Brother impaled him with his red lightsaber.
"EZRA!" Sabine screamed! Suddenly with a jolt, Sabine woke up in a cold sweat with head and heart pounding. "Just a dream," Sabine whispered. But that feeling of terror of losing Ezra again would not go away. She got up from her bed that Zare kindly set up in the spare room, put on her jacket, and started walking to Ezra's place. In her haze, it only felt like she was walking for a few moments when she finally arrived at the house that Ezra called home for the last couple of years.
She walked in to see a disheveled and dusty living room seeing that Ezra was just as sloppy as ever. She walked a little further into the house and found a faint light on in one of the bedrooms, where she found Ezra packing his things.
"Hey stranger," Ezra grinned as he looked up at Sabine.
"Hey," Sabine said half-heartedly and breathing a sigh of relief. "Couldn't sleep?"
"Yeah, I just can't wait to get back home," Ezra smiled.
"Everyone will be excited to see you," Sabine confirmed.
"I also felt a disturbance in the force; that you were in distress and knew that you would be heading this way." Ezra looked at her, his eyes asking her what was wrong.
"I had a dream that we were surrounded by flames and the Inquisitor, Seventh Brother, was there. You told me to run, but all I could do was stand there, frozen, while he killed you. I-I was afraid that I lost you again." Sabine choked back, remembering that feeling of losing him agian.
"Hey," Ezra said, voice laced with concern as he got up and embraced her in a comforting hug. "He's long gone, Maul killed him, and you found me and I'm not going anywhere. We are going to go home in just a few days," Ezra comforted. Sabine felt reassured by Ezra's words and by his embrace. He was here, after all these years of searching for him, he was finally with her.
"Hey, you wanna see something?" he asked as he released Sabine and held her arms' length.
"Sure" Sabine replied, surprised, not sure what to expect.
With that, Ezra took her hand and pulled her to the staircase that lead to the roof. There she could see all the stars in the sky, she has seen stars before but tonight, she was thinking that they were the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, and how she looked through all those stars to find Ezra.
"When I woke up, after Zare found me, and in between helping the people, I felt so lonely for Zeb, for Hera, Chopper, Rex, and for you. But I had to put my faith in the force that things would work out. But ultimately, I had to have faith in you that you would find me, that you'd never give up and keep going until I was right in front of you. That faith paid off, and I am so happy that you did." He said looking at her in the eyes. "Sabine, you never gave up on me and I never gave up on you. You are the strongest person I know, that's why I can count on you," Ezra said encouragingly.
"Ezra. I was ready to give up. So many times, after going from one planet to another and you weren't there, I was seriously wondering if looking for you was worth it at all. I was ready to give up Ezra..." Sabine spoke rapidly.
"But you didn't, you found me, and now we can be together, with our friends and each other," Ezra said in a calm voice.
At that moment they took comfort in each other a being together and spent the rest of the night talking and looking at the stars together until they both fell asleep in each other's arms; that is until Ahsoka found them the next morning.
"Hey, wake up lovebirds!" Ahsoka bellowed as Ezra and Sabine woke up with a start and scrambled out of each other's embrace.
"A-Ahsoka! Nothing happened, we were just..." Ezra stumbled.
"Zare and Merei made breakfast, come on," Ahsoka cut off, then she gave a wink and an all-knowing smile as she turned to walk down the stairs.
After an awkward moment. Ezra gave Sabine a shrug and Sabine broke out into a chuckling grin.
"Race you to the Zare's?" Sabine asked.
"Last one there has to wash the dishes!" Ezra yelled as he broke out into a run.
"Oh, it's on laser brain!" She called out as she raced to catch up.
