Civilians paused in their steps at the announcement and, like clockwork, immediately set in motion. People grabbed family members and friends as they swiftly ran towards the shelters where people in uniformed clothing guided them away from the incoming danger.
Amongst the crowd was a young teen, tugging the hands of two small boys in the same direction as the flowing crowd. She glanced over her shoulder in time to catch sight of a portal opening to reveal a monstrous form.
