When a mysterious blue jay flies over to Leaguegend, she befriends Claire. But overtime, she starts to impersonate Claire. Little does she know of the blue jay's true motive to get closer to Jeremy and have him date her instead of Claire.
Chapter 1: A few comforting words
It was dark outside at Leaguegend and the moon was out. The stars flickered in the night. Most of the refugees were sleeping in their tents. Well... almost everyone.
"Nikki! Come on! It's almost bedtime," Claire said to her temporarily adopted daughter. "But I'm not tired!" cried Nikki.
"Nikki! Listen to your mother!" Jeremy said to his temporary adopted daughter. "Blumock! She's so hyperactive right now."
"That's how life is," said Claire. "Just imagine how our kids would act!" "Ioni and Nikki are right here," said Jeremy. "I didn't mean that," said Claire. "I mean our kids in the future."
"What?!" asked Jeremy. "What did you think I was talking about, Marshmallow hon?" asked Claire. "I want to have kids someday. Besides, my parents are already coming to meet you. Remember they're coming to give you their blessing?"
"Uh...yeah," stuttered Jeremy. "But why now of all things?" "I thought it would be best to meet you before you went to class," said Claire.
"There he is!" someone said outside. It was revealed to be Claire's dad. "Mind if we visit?" he asked. "You're welcome," said Claire.
When Claire's parents were settling in, Nikki and Ioni decided to join them.
"Glad we came by to see our daughter's boyfriend again," said Claire's mother. "Oh mom, you don't need to check up on us," Claire said, giggling. "We're doing just fine. Isn't that right, kids?" Ioni and Nikki nodded. "You see? We're fine."
"You alright, boy?" Claire's father asked Jeremy. "What?" I'm fine, Mr. Claire," stuttered Jeremy. "I just...uh...It's just...," "It's about what happened before was it?" asked Claire's father.
"Now, Norman, he's been through so much," Claire's mother said to him. "Jeremy, sweet pea, I'm sorry you're feeling like this," she said to the young ostrich.
"Michelle, the boy has to let go of what's happened," said Norman. Then he said to Jeremy; "Listen, boy, when bad things happen, you need to know when to let them go. It's part of life. We're not perfect people. We all make mistakes. But from our mistakes, we learn from them."
"But I was the cause for the deaths of many animals," sobbed Jeremy. "I led those evil ostriches into battle under mind control. I almost killed Chad!"
"Not this again," muttered Claire. "Schnookums, stop blaming yourself for what happened. You had no choice. Why do you keep talking about this? My parents know that you're nothing like those evil ostriches. As for that evil dragon, Shabedoom, he deserved to die!"
"But I didn't mean to kill Shabedoom," sniffed Jeremy. "He did kill my guardian, Dana. But he never deserved to die like that. Heroes are supposed to spare the bad guys. But I didn't spare the bad guy." "If he was still alive, he would have terrorized more people," said Claire. "Then again, you pissed off his wife, Melody. Now she's after you."
"Now the Sergons want to hunt me and kill me too," sighed Jeremy. "They're all after me now. I can't kill them though."
"You have to," said Norman. "You can't keep sparing the bad guy. They'll continue to cause terror to innocent people. Putting them in jail won't work as they'll find a way to escape and kill the police guards and officers, adding more to their murders. As you continue to train with the Guardians, you need to learn how to fight so you can be ready for the war. And stop sparing the bad guy!"
