I look into the distance with my eyebrows furrowed in worry, ignoring that Alem is standing right behind me.
"What're you looking at?" He asked, also looking at the same direction where I was looking. I shook my head, dismissing the topic before patting his arm as I began to walk away in the opposite direction.
"It's...nothing." I said as I grabbed Alem's hand and thought about my parent's lookalike. They truly look like them... but younger and... somewhat happier.
I wonder if they used to look like that when they were in Hogwarts.
"I know when something's troubling you, Cressida. You can always tell your big brother about it." My worried brother sighed while I just rolled my eyes and kept my gaze at the King's Cross station, where I'm sure my parents would be.
"Alem, even though you're my brother, you're not really reliable when it comes to things like this." We crossed the street with our hands interlinked just in case we get separated from the crowd that's bumping and pushing our shoulders as if they don't care at all.
"Are you saying that Zeke is a better older brother than I am?" He asked with a fake dramatic tone and a gasp. I scoff playfully, retracting my hand away from his while we walked towards Platform 9 3/4.
"Compared to Zeke, he's actually logical and more sensible than you."
"Wow, that really hurts, Cressie."
"I try my best." I chuckle before leaving Alem behind by dashing towards the brick wall with my eyes shut tightly as if I'm really gonna get hit by the hard surface of the wall, even though it won't.
I stopped on my tracks when I heard the sound of the Hogwarts Express growing louder than ever with the combined sounds of owls, frogs and cats in their cages doing their own things while the students are chatting and bidding their parents goodbye before the semester starts.
In the distance, I could see a familiar patch of dark raven hair and (H/C) hair so I immediately ran over towards them but not before I straightened my dress to make it look like I didn't just fall on the ground after bumping someone.
The eyes of my parents and my older brother landed towards me when they saw me getting closer towards them. However, the first person to ever come up to me with such worry and concern was my mother/father.
"Cressida Lily Potter, where have you been!?" I look up to see their slightly disheveled features but at least it wasn't as empty as their (E/C) eyes; my mother/father's doppleganger's eyes looked more alive than their's.
Also, for some reason, they're always afraid of daddy. As if he's going to do something to them,
But I know that daddy loves them very much and I know that mother/father does too. There's no way that you could get married without having feelings for each other.
"Oh, at least you're safe. You didn't wander too far, did you?" They pulled me in for a gentle embrace, kissing my forehead lovingly. It felt nice being pampered by my parents but this gesture has always been strange to me.
They never do the same thing to daddy, well, willingly.
It's always daddy who has to embrace them for them to embrace them back. Mother/father never initiates, they just do it because daddy does it.
"I didn't." I laughed and pulled myself away from them, glancing up towards my dad, who's pushing his round glasses up.
"Well, Cressie has always been the type to wander around but she can still find her way back to us which is very adorable in a way, don't you think so, (Y/N)?" He pinched my cheeks as I laughed, trying to pull daddy's hands away from my cheeks.
"Stop it, dad!" I continue laughing until he did pull his hands away, giving my mother/father a side smile.
"Dad, the knucklehead is here." Zeke said while adjusting his glasses and wrapping his fingers at the handle of his trolley.
"You really call your older brother a 'knucklehead'? Geez, where's the respect?" Alem fake frowns, ruffling Zeke's black hair just to intentionally annoy him. Zeke doesn't like it when someone messes with his hair more because it's already messy in the first place.
"Because you are! And stop doing that to my hair!" Zeke hissed, prying Alem's hands off of his hair. Daddy laughed and so did I.
I like watching my family get along but my mother/father's mind always goes somewhere else when something like this happens. They always think of something and their look when they do screams out regret and sadness.
I couldn't help but feel bad for my own mother/father but I can't do anything about it. I'm sure daddy can do something, though.
After all, love is enough to make someone forget even the tiniest of their worries, right?
I sigh, flicking my eyes back to Zeke and Alem doing their own thing and fighting like... what boys do while daddy is now trying to join in on the fun and mother/father is just watching from the sidelines with a frown.
The Potter family surely is a weird one, isn't it?
