"Aaah!". Another scream from Alice woke Mrs Smith up once again. She rushed to her room only to find Alice seated on her bed and sobbing bitterly with blood all over her palms. Instantly she knew what her daughter was going through. She drew closer to her and sat by her on her bed.
"Why do you always hurt yourself thinking about him? "She drew her to her chest and rubbed her palm gently on her shoulder. "It hurts me to see you this way. Please do me a favour and stop thinking about him" she nodded in response.
Alice is a young beautiful girl of 17 years old. She was the only daughter of her parents, Mr and Mrs Smith. She is fair, with dark brown hair which she wore in braid that most of the time. She barely had time for her hair and face. She normally kept to herself or you will see her hanging out with her best friend Hagan.
Hagan knew almost every about Alice just as she knew almost everything about him. Hagan was a straight forward guy who was always open to his peers but Alice was otherwise. Despite the fact that they had a lot of differences they liked each other very much.
Once Alice told Hagan that she had a crush on someone he took it for granted. But some few days later as he was going out to see her at her place he saw her running to him with a huge broad smile spread on both sides of her face. He smiled back at his friend who came to a stop to catch some breath before proceeding with what she was about to do.
"H-He pro-proposed. "
"Who proposed"he said showing much concern.
"The guy I had a crush on". After she completed her sentence, his mouth felt dead open.
"And who is this lucky guy who just seems to be taking my friend away from me bit by bit. " he asked trying not to show much concern.
After catching enough breath she shyly said"Allan, Allan Woods" trying as much as possible not to blush. She turned only to see Hagan gazing at him in surprise. "What! " she yelled.
"Nothing, just surprised. At first I thought you were never going to ever fall in love, but I-I-I just.......I just don't know what to do or say" he said still surprised.
"Well people change. But it seems whenever he is close to me I get some chills running down my spine throughout my whole body making me to feel dizzy" she said that almost trying to fall off her feet just as Hagan caught her in his arms and onto her feet once again. " He really makes me feel this way" she added.
"So what was your reply? "
" In a whisper, I smiled and said 'yes'"
"Yes!, just like that? "
"Yeah, just like that and I ran over to your place"
"Wow! you really are a miracle. "
He lead her into his house and they talked about the current topic all over and over in his room. After a long period of time, he escorted her to her house still talking about the issue. They got to her house and they bid themselves goodbyes after which they went separate ways.
As Alice got into her house, she saw her parents seated at the hall. She went to their side at greeted them "Good evening everyone" she said as she danced happily into her room.
Her surprised parents looked at each other and was interrupted by something her mother said."Are you thinking what I'm thinking? ". Without a word from anyone she dashed out and followed her into her room.
"What's going on in here. Am I a little lost" she said using her hand to make gestures.
"Nothing is wrong mama, just a little bit happy because my crush just proposed to me and I accepted" she said it only realizing what she just said and she hid her face in her palms only to hide her blushes.
" What did you just say, .....your crush!, ......when did it all happen?" She asked Alice with widened eyes full of shock and curiosity.
"Relax mama. It's a long story. ...."she said that to comfort her mother, sat her down and told her everything concerning the topic. Her mother who just sat down and kept on staring at her daughter telling her something that was so different from their past conversation became surprised and happy to see her daughter grow to this stage.
She in return gave her advice on how to have a chaste relationship with him.
After a week full of love, Alice came home with a sad look trying as much as possible not to cry. She walked past her mother and ran into her room without a word. Her worried mother chased after her only daughter to her room upstairs.
"What went wrong. I thought everything was okay. So why are you crying. "
"He dumped me"
"Who dumped you" trying to sound as if she knew nothing.
"A-Allan dumped me" still crying
"What!... Why did he dump you" this time round with a low and caring tone.
"Because I've being refusing to have sex with him"
"What! " said Mrs Smith and a voice at the door. They turned to see who the person was only to find Hagan.
"I swear, I will punch him in the face as he walked out of the door". She ran as fast as her legs could carry her and stood in his way " Please don't attack him. I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me." She tried with all her might to control him until she finally succeeded. They walked home as she lay her head on his shoulder still.
She cried and finally fell to sleep as she went straight to her room.
She woke up and being heart broken, a pair of her shoes on her dressing mirror which broke into smaller pieces. She tried to pick it up until one pricked her palm and cutting it open.
"Aaaa!" She yelled and her mum came to her aid. She drew closer to her and sat by her on her bed.
