Nia's POV

I-

I-

I pounced on him.

Okay not like that but I just jumped into his arms and hugged him as hard as I can. I didn't scream, knowing how much attention that would draw inc but I just shook with excitement. He warmly returned the embrace and giggled a bit.

' Well um...hey,' he blushed. 'Hiiiiiiiiiii!,' I was still hugging him. Abruptly I pulled away and we just stared at each other for a while. I looked him up and down. He was wearing  a light-yellow collared shirt with a sleeveless button up on top. Cute I guess. But then I looked at him again...Why did he look so stiff and anxious?

'So um, you gonna treat me differently now?'

Ohhhhh I get it, he must be used to people getting all star-struck on him, treating him like he is not human, but in fact an inanimate object, with no thought and feelings?

'Boy what?' I creased my eyebrows, causing him to look at me in confusion, 'I a'int gon' treat you any different from any other nig-nogs sitting right here in the damn library. So if you ever spill anything on me ever again, you'll be getting an ass-whoopin'.  okay?' I pretendedly scolded, hands on hips. Well that lightened the mood (though I've never seen anyone so happy about getting whooped by someone they hardly know, but okay). He instantly smiled, which kinda warmed my heart up inside.

Wait what?

Butterflies? Actually no.I don't get butterflies. I will not get butterflies. For anyone. Ever. Again.

'Hello?' I saw a hand wave up into my face, which snapped me back to reality. 'Oh hi! Sorry, I was just thinking about life...so what were we talking about again?' He paused. 'Your name...?' his soft voice left shivers down my spin, 'I want to know what your name is.'

Um woah (a/n Damn your girl so fine but her breath is like woah *woahs* btw sorry for this but I just had to *crying emoji face*)

Why did him being so interested about me make me feel so good inside? I sighed and shook the thought away.

''Niadah, Niadah Andrews (Ny-ah-dah),'  I held out my hand. His large, warm palm enveloped my hand in ways no one else could. 'Well, it's nice to meet you Niadah. A beautiful name for a beautiful person.' He almost whispered, still holding on to my hand. To my unfortunateness, I know I had to let go of it, so I politely did and we both looked down. Come on Niadah don't be awkward don't be awkward!

'Anyways,' I said louder than intended, 'I have a secret, want me to share?' I smirked. 'Well, sure,' his eyes bubbled, intruiged. 'There is a secret room, right here in this library,' he wrinkled his eyebrows, 'What?, a secret room? But how could there possibly b-' 'Shush and follow me,' I laughed at his babbling.

Michaels POV

As soon as I laid my eyes on this girl, I knew there was something interesting about her. I don't know, something just drew me in. Wether it's her upbeat yet mysterious personality, or her beautiful face. I was quite amused yet fascinated about this 'secret room' but I followed her regardless. We went to the back of the library, behind all the aisles. In the left hand corner, there was a curtain, and behind the curtain, there was a gigantic bookcase homing a lot of history books. Niadah grabbed a book which on the spine said 'Glendale: A History'. As soon as that happened, the bookcase shifted the the left, revealing a dark alleyway! 'Holy Shmuck!' I gasped in awe of what was before me, Niadah just looked at me in amusement 'Mind my language,' I added nervously. Out of nowhere she just started laughing? 'Oh Michael! Just come on,' she chuckled, holding herself. We finally got to the end of the 'corridor' but she made sure that the bookcase was back where it was supposed to be, so that no one could look inside.

'Well, what do you think?' she gestured her hands around the room. A room which was covered with all sorts of pictures, pictures of drugs, pictures of people, and right in the middle of the room, there was a box chained to the ground, and with a keyhole. 'Wow,' was all I could really say. I thought it would be unbelievably down here, but there were candles already lit by the time we came. Niadah saw me looking around the room. Then back at her.

'So basically...' she walked about the room, 'I discovered this place earlier this summer and I think its a map slash fact file of all the drug lords in cali also the box in the middle of the room can't be opened I've tried so many times it's probably holding something that could change drug life forever by the way I searched up on some of the people I saw in these pics so I know what I'm talking about.' she took a deep breath. Well wow! Who knew someone could babble so much. It was pretty cute though. 'Also don't ask me why the candles were lit before we even entered the room they just are every time I come here they're always lit.' 'W-,' 'Also sorry for babbling, I talk too much I know...' Preparing to discontinue whatever she was about to say, I cleared my throat and raised my voice a little bit.

'NIADAH,' She stopped in her tracks. I smiled finally able to get her attention, 'this is crazy! But so fascinating,' I played with my fingers behind my back. 'D-do you think I could come here sometimes?' 'Well of course! Why do you think I found this place? My parents are always sending me to the library and it gets boring after a while...' we both laughed. She had a sweet but strange laugh. I liked it. After a few moments silence, she tucked a few frizzy strands of her majestic curly hair, behind her ear before beginning to speak. 'Y-you know, we could come back here together...I-if you want? But also, if you ever need space from your family and I'm not here, then I don't mind. You can come here whenever you want to.' She smiled shyly. 'Oh thank you so much!' I clasped my hands together in excitement, then dropped them back to my side. 'W-would you maybe want to meet me here tomorrow Afterschool? We could grab a coffee and...you know, work out whatever this,' I motioned to the wall of pictures, 'is.'

'Yeah sure,' her eyes lit up, 'that would be nice,'

'Then it's a date Nia,' I smiled and winked at her, laughing. We were both laughing. Together. It felt nice.

Nia's POV

'Nia? Well thats a new one' I thought to myself as me and Michael made it to the entrance of the library. Ms Lifton (the librarian) was still sleeping, as usual.

'So um, shall I give you my number or you give me yours?' Michael asked out of the blue, for a moment I was confused. 'You know, just so if any of us need to cancel we can let each other know,' 'Oh right,' I lately clocked, whipping out two pens and took his arm, while he held mine as well. We both wrote down our numbers. 'Are you ticklish?' he asked, "um yeah, a little bit,' I replied shyly. I didn't think he had noticed me trying not to laugh as he wrote his number. But it seems like I can get nothing past him, he always notices the little things.

'Anyway yeah, see you tomorrow hopefully,' I smiled shaking his hand, 'see you tomorrow, hopefully,' he smiled and shook back.
