It was rush hour in Dublin, which meant that vampire speed was out of the question. Still, walking through the city streets gave me time to think about Peter. It was strange, but there was something about him that I couldn't get my mind off of. Should I have told Elliot in the moment? Could we have had Tom in our custody already? Would Caroline have her memories back by now? He told me where he was hiding if I were to change my mind. He didn't say anything about Tom being there too, but he still wanted me to go with him. Something in my gut told me that Peter wasn't actually supposed to tell me where he was hiding unless I agreed to switch teams in the first place.

Before heading out to the house where the pack was meeting, I stopped by where Melanie lived. When we decided to become a pack, we needed to make a few choices. One of them being what to do with Caroline and Melanie during the meetings. Ciara had to be there, but if she left then that would mean that Melanie and Caroline would be alone without any way to defend themselves. That's when Elliot decided that Melanie would take her place at the meetings rather than risking anything happening to Caroline. Although some members of the pack (Emmet) didn't agree with the decision, whatever Elliot said was basically law among the seven of us. Not only that, but Caroline's safety was the only thing that mattered to Elliot in the end, so whatever issues Emmet had didn't matter.

Once I arrived at Melanie's house, I saw her and Ciara sitting on the steps that led to the front door. When the two of them saw me, they both stood up and met me out on the sidewalk. I smiled at both of them, but all I got in response was blank expressions, which of course meant nothing good.

"Why the long faces ladies? We are a pack now, so we should be happy to be in one another's company," I said, then glanced at Melanie with a smirk. "Well, some of us are. Sorry about that one, Mango," I snickered, but she simply rolled her eyes at me. I obviously knew her name, but when I first met her I didn't want to put the effort into remembering it. After a while though, it dawned on me that she wasn't just one of those people that hung around for a bit and then never showed up again. Still, I knew how ecstatic she got when I screwed up her name, so I figured why take that away from her?

"Are you even trying anymore? You literally just named a fruit that began with the letter M," Mel asked, but I simply gave her a shrug of my shoulders and glanced at Ciara, who still had no expression. I thought that by now she would have at least cracked half of a smile, but there was nothing.

"Is everything okay? You don't have anything to report?" I asked wearily and both of them took a long pause before speaking. I wasn't like Elliot, who was practically head over heels in love with Caroline, but she was one of the few people I felt like I could let my guard down around. Sure, like most people, she had her moments where she was annoying, but I never wished anything bad would happen to her.

"She remembered something today," Ciara said, and I thought that my heart had stopped right there. If she remembered, then she could blow our cover and tip off Tom, or worse, the council.

"What did she remember?"

"She was telling me about a dream she had the other night. A voice was telling her that she would remember everything soon. Caroline said that she recognized the voice, but she couldn't put a face or a name to it," Ciara explained. Shit, I cursed at myself as I quickly looked down at the ground. The last time I had visited her dreams it didn't seem like she was retaining any information, but I guess I was wrong. Thankfully, she didn't remember a face or a name, which meant that we were all still safe for the most part. As long as Caroline was kept in the dark, we would be okay.

"I'm going to bring it up at the pack meeting tonight. Figured Elliot might want to know about this," Melanie mentioned. I nodded and let out a deep sigh.
