Deceit roamed the halls of the light sides, his hands in his pockets. He whistled softly, walking past Roman's room. He heard sobbing, and he immediately stopped to peak in.

There sat Roman, crying into his knees. Deceit noticed that Roman had like...no color. He approached him and crouched down.

"Don't cry." he said, placing his gloved hand on the Prince's shoulder. Roman jumped, looking up. "Deceit! What on earth are you doing on the light side?!" he asked, drawing his sword. Deceit put his hands up and backed away "My intention is totally to cause dramatics." he said, taking his hat off.

Roman then eased up. "Alright then...but what are you doing here?" he asked, wiping his tears. "I didn't sense stress, anger. I usually don't manipulate people into getting revenge, but I feel like doing that today." Deceit said, sitting down next to Roman.

"Can you...try not to speak in lies? It gets confusing after a while." Roman asked, awkwardly chuckling.

Deceit closed his eyes, the snake side of his face disappearing. He then opened his eyes, both of them being brown. "...I just want to know if you're alright. Its not everyday a side breaks down and loses all his colors because he feels worthless and unneeded. I mean, its definitely happened before. Poor Logan fell for a while. Luckily, Patton picked him up in time before he completely gave up and y'know, perished."

Roman blinked. "Patton would never pick me up. Virgil just hates me in general and Logan...Well, Logan is Logan, he would never come into my room under any circumstances." Roman said, holding his shoulders.

"...I could? I mean, you'd come out a darkside and have a more mischievous mindset...but you'd live? I mean, you'd still be Roman! You'd just...work against Thomas rather than with him...oh and...
you'd probably look kinda edgy-" Deceit said, rubbing the back of his own neck. Roman thought for a moment. "I don't want to perish..." he looked at his hands. "And I don't want to hurt Thomas." he watched as his tears fall onto his palms.

Deceit rubbed circles on Roman's back in attempt to calm him. "Again, this isn't something I want to force upon you, but I promise I will take care of and protect you. I may lie, but I hate breaking promises." Deceit whispered. Roman looked up at Deceit and rested his head on his shoulder. Deceit's face went a dark shade of red.

"I don't want to go Dee..." he whimpered. "So...do what you can." He said, his voice hesitant and shaky. Deceit moved back and stood infront of Roman, taking a deep breath. His entire face was soon covered in scales, and both of his eyes were yellow.

Suddenly, Roman's vision turned to black.
