Chapter one : My life

In High School, I was class President. Not by choice, my friends pushed me to do it, they knew that if they nominated me for it, I would get the role. As much as I hated the attention, class President looked really good on job applications. It means that I'm a hard worker and I have very good grades. Although I haven't reached my goal of perfect grades yet, I strive to be Valedictorian when I finish High School. That would make mom and dad so very proud. Sadly, I don't get to see them very often, maybe two or three times a year. I live with my grandpa and grandma while my parents are off somewhere else in the world for business. The only thing I can send to them in the mail, that speaks for itself, is my report card. And so, it's hard work keeping my strait A's, but it's truly the one thing that I desire the most, to make my parents proud. There's a list of things I do as class President, but also, just as a student and as a young person in Busan. I manage the boy's volleyball team, I organise class outings and activities, welcome new students, I work at the school library and also, I tutor. There's not one day where I get to sleep before 1 am. But all these things make me feel proud and accomplished.

Every single day, I wake up at seven am, on the dot, make breakfast for my grandparents and then leave for school to get there at eight. Every day, I would be working at the library on lunch breaks and then right after school, from five to six, volley ball practice. I then tutor from six to eight and over the weekends as well, when there aren't any volley tournaments. Then I get home and organise any class assignments, do my homework and sleep. I fell into the academic rabbit hole a long time ago, and I don't think I'll ever be out of it. I was born a workaholic, got that from Mom and Dad. Even though I come from a very wealthy family, Dad always said: "You don't just work for yourself, you work for everyone around you, and success, gratitude and admiration are the things you get in return."

Grandma has been sick for a little while so I make sure to take extra care of her. I want to give her the world, but the most important thing I can only really give to her is love and my own time. Our family lives in a very big house, we do have a butler named Mr. Kim as well as a housekeeper named Ms. Byun. The house is beautifully decorated with eye catching art works and amazingly designed furniture. As for me, I wanted my room to be simple and elegant, the place where I could open my mind and just relax. It's got light beige walls with a huge all white bed set. I have a very big window where the light seeps through during the day and at night, I can clearly see the starts shining. I have a variety of assorted plants along the window and on my work desk. That's also where my black cat lives, usually bathing in the sunlight, his name is Phantom.

So it's a pretty normal morning, I was just walking to school and I got called out of class by our homeroom teacher, who came over to the gym, for some work. So I got out of P.E. and headed strait towards his office accompanying him.
-Mrs. (Y/n), you're an excellent student and surpass every single teacher's expectations. We know that you have quite a lot on your plate right now being my class President. From what I can tell, you aren't tutoring anyone right now, and we've been having quite some trouble with a particular student. Said Mr. Haeng.
-Alright, in which class does this student seem to be struggling ? I answered.
-All of them.
-All of them, really?
-Yes, well in fact the student is not in our class but rather in class 3-B. We've assigned him four different tutors and still, we haven't seen any progress. Added Mr. Haeng.
-Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to help him, but the least I can do is try. I hesitantly said.
-We also need you to understand that, if you feel that nothing can be done, there's no other way but to remove him from this school, we are a private school and we expect more from our students. We need them to have a high academic performance, ideally like yours.
-I understand. I answered.

Chapter two : Meeting him

Mr. Haeng had arranged a meeting between the particular student and I. He told me that he was a bad student, not only did he not have good grades, he was also rude and mean. I was working in the library and on my break at 12h15, I went to sit down at a table and waited for the student. He didn't show up. I waited five, ten, fifteen minutes. I knew I had to work but priority was tutoring and I also knew I wouldn't get in trouble for waiting for him. He finally showed up. I had seen him before. Him and his deep brown eyes and dark brown hair. He was tall, I didn't know much about him, not even his name, I only knew that we were in the same year. I also knew that he was one of the "bad boys", the "outsiders", someone you don't really want to be friends with.
-Hello, I'm (Y/n), I will be tutoring you.
-You're not gonna scold me because I'm late? He asked in a joking voice, like he had a chip on his shoulder.
-Why would I? I'm not a teacher, we're students, we have lives, we can't always be there on time, I get it. So what's your name?
-Oh, r-right, I'm Jungkook. He said, knowing I wasn't kidding around like he was.
-Nice to meet you, Jungkook. Now I've planned pretty much everything out. I only have a couple of questions for you and we also need to arrange our meetings.
-Sounds fair, go ahead. He said.
-Jungkook, are you willing to succeed? To work really hard, I asked.
-Isn't that kind of a rude question?
-I don't tutor bums, I tutor people who actually want good grades. I'm not here to play around. If you want to put in the necessary effort, I'm all yours...
-Well, if that's it, then yeah. He answered.
-Good, let's meet on Tuesday's for the week days from six to eight, I also have all weekend if you're available.
-Sounds good to me. I'm free on Saturdays.
-Okay, we will be meeting at my place at 10 am. I'll give you my email and phone number, good?
-Yeah, that's alright. He said.
-Okay, I'm gonna get back to work then. See you tomorrow night, in the library, at six sharp, try not to be late, okay? I added, giving him a sweet smile.
