Marching forward was a wave of black, through the forests and through the waters they ran and ran. Callisto stationed right at the centre of it all. Her doting husband at her side and her brother next to his guard. Caius was nervous to have his wife walk the world, surely things were much different than she remembers, for god sake the woman didn't even know they made socks out of anything other than burlap now. Day and night for nearly a week the Volturi devised a plan of attack, they knew the Cullens would be waiting and word had spread that they had witnesses. Who would stand against the Queen? Callisto thought when she heard of the news. High treason is what was going on. No one would come out innocent now. With the promise of death and destruction Callisto sped around the world to none other than Washington. They had caught the scent of the Cullens along with several others near the coast. Slowing to a walk the guard formed a diamond around the Royals. Callisto only a few steps ahead of the Kings, Felix tight to her left and Afton to her right, they were on guard already, their eyes and ears picking up on the tiniest infraction.
The Cullens stood with their witnesses, worry bubbled to the surface as the black wave became visible, they hadn't told their witnesses that Callisto was coming, too many people were loyal to her.
The witnesses watched as the guard parted away, the waterfall of chocolate curls accompanied by the beautifully embroidered cape that adorned the Queens shoulders came to a shock. Amun took a knee first, his head bowed and soul regretful. The Irish coven was next to bow, followed by the Romanians. Despite their hatred for Aro and Caius they were loyal to their Queen Callisto.
"You have been pardoned for your crimes." it took only seconds for the vampires to disappear, but the Cullens stood strong with the remainder of their witnesses. They held no negative feelings towards their flighty witnesses, they had omitted Callisto from the story.
"High treason is an unforgivable crime, you've all had your chance." Callisto moved to wave their army through but the wolves emerged at her raised hand. "Puppies how adorable." The wicked glint in her eyes didn't go away as she locked onto her first target. Her eyes wide and shiny as she looked at the white haired wolf, slowly it morphed back to its human form, eyes locked with the Queens. The wolves tried to interfere but nothing would break the bond the wolf and the Queen made, her eyes watched intently as the human dug its hands into its chest, nails ripping at skin and blood staining the white snow beneath. The wolves barked and howled, but the vampires held them back. They knew Callisto was playing a game, a show of power and position. It wasn't until the tan skinned boy fell to the ground his fingers still stuck between the skin and muscle as he tried to claw through his body for his heart. It was a pity he didn't last longer. Despite the stench that came from the limp wolf boy the Volturi smirked proudly.
"Calli, please. I know you came to execute injustice but there is nothing unjust here. The ones behind us are witnesses, none ready to fight you." Carlisle pleaded, his feet bringing him forward, past his loving wife and children. Esme called out for him, Emmett held her back as her pleading fell on deaf ears. Caius stepped up to his wife, Carlisle was not this irresponsible. Caius could practically see the wheels turning in the Cullens head as Carlisle approches the Royal family. Aro had stayed quiet, watching things unfold before him. Callisto had ventured quite far from the guard, her hand waving them back as they followed her.
"Carlisle you have been pardon for many things regarding your family, your status holding near and dear in my heart and our friendship higher yet you conspire to create the thing most dangerous to our race?" Callisto felt the disappointment creep up, Carlisle had been a friend for centuries. He had maintained their friendship threw letters when he left for America and to this day they occasionally sent correspondence.
