Thursday → Astrid
"Outstanding" My father grinned, looking through my report card.
I some how managed to achieve 100% on everything, even though I went to the best school in England, created to extend upon what a normal school would teach. Allegedly I was gifted, although I would trade whatever Mathematics I could do in return for strength or flight. Everyday was the same; I went to school, I learnt, I came home and I studied. My father also made me play the Violin. He claims that I am an exellent violinist, but I know the reason why he made me, my mother used to play it.
Friday → Astrid
Today I was walking home from school, continuesly studying the script music for my Violin piece this weekend, I was terrified. Reading over the notes one final time when I felt something shove into me, I almost lost my balance, although I let go of my papers. Quickly, I scrambled to get ahold of as many as I could, but the wind picked them up and they blew away like origami birds flying away, fluttering delicately.
I looked up and saw a familar face, Frances, he was in quite a few of my classes although we didnt speak much. "Uh.. sorry" he casually muttered until he looked up from his feet and met my eyes. His cheeks turned pink and he hesitated. "Um.. sorry Astrid" he whined as he quickly knelt down and grabbed all the papers still near our feet.
"Its alright" I finally said, getting up with a few sheets of paper.
"Uh, im sorry about the rest of the paper" he said as he walked away. I smiled a little and watched him move away, I then felt a stab of worry, my father is going to kill me now that i've lost most of the sheet music for my music competiton on Sunday. Rain began to fall from the sky and I continued to walk home. Soon, the rain got heavier and my foot prints got faster, soon I was running home.
Getting to the door step, I took off my knee-high black boots and opened the door. My father was standing there in dismay, looking at my drenched body. "Astrid, get inside, clean yourself up before Mr Greenhow arrives"
Ah. Mr Greenhow. I had totally forgotten about that. He was a friend of my Uncle who had offered me a Violin scholarship at one of the best English theatre companies. I nodded and ran upstairs, I went into my bedroom and dumped my soaking school bag next to the bed, my music papers had gotten really wet, so I turned on the fan and put them infront of the fan. Next, I opened my wardrobe and found a collared blouse and a black skirt to go with it. I closed the wardrobe and went into the bathroom, I looked like a mess. In the mirror was a blonde girl with long wet hair that looked like a dead animal. I took off my school uniform, took a shower and then got back out again. I got dressed again into the blouse and tucked it into the skirt. The drawer made a creaking noise as I opened it and pulled out the hair dryer, I plugged it in and turned it on.
My hair reached all the way down to my thighs once I had fully brushed it and dryed it, my hair was too long that it looked stupid but my father never allowed me to cut it. A solution for this was to braid my hair and then wrap it up into a bun, so I did this.
Once I was finally finished, I went out of the bathroom and downstairs. The kitchen was empty so I called for my dad.
"Oh yes, sorry Astrid!" He called from the basment. I opened the door and went down to the basement to see my dad working on his newest inventions, being able to keep incredibly sick and aging people alive on his machine before there is a cure to their issues, Recently he had been helped a sick and old man. All the client had to do was take the medication twice a day and check in on the scanner once a week to keep them alive.
He turned to me from his machine and nodded, I came over. "Astrid, hun?" He asked.
"Yes father?" I asked.
"I may of found a way to bring the dead back" he said, a huge grin plastered to his face.
