"I can't save you."
That's all I said to them. It's all I could think about for the next few hours as I sobbed in the chair.
I heard the doors open as Tensor walked in. "Good news, Ei. We're letting you go!" He helped me stand and guided me out if the room. "We contacted the heroes that were searching for you, we told them where we were going to leave you. They'll probably take you to a hospital... even though you want have any scars, physically, at least."
I looked like I had been their for months, but in reality, it had only been one week. I knew what Tensor meant when he said I wouldn't have any physical scars... but I knew I'd have plenty of mental ones. Mental scars can show too. I wasn't hurt really at all, but it looked like I was beaten up everyday.
Tensor was the only one accompanying me, which was good. I wouldn't have to see that hooded guy ever again... or at least I hoped.
"So Eijiro, how did you enjoy your stay?" Tensor looked at me, a gleam in his eyes.
I gave him a glare full of pain and sadness.
He chuckled, then said, "funny, that's the reaction we got on all of our test subjects! Wonder if that will happen to our future victims..."
Future victims... that scared me. We're they really going to do this to others? That's when I remembered their plan. They wanted to destroy the future heroes. Was this was they meant? Not literally kill them, just breaking them?
"It's going to be boring, without you." Tensor placed a hand on my shoulder. "Y'know how bosses are, they don't want us to get too hasty and jump right into torturing someone else. He says we need to wait a certain amount of time before we strike again. Either that or we go and do this in a different city."
That's good, maybe the police and heroes can catch them before they do this to anyone else.
"It would be nice if you talked more... but I guess we did kidnap you. Anyway I wonderi- looks like we're here! Stay right in this alleyway, the heroes are coming soon. I'm just gonna head back to base."
These villains were evil and crazy, but they were kinda friendly... in a conversation at least. They weren't like any other villains I've heard of or seen.
"Young Kirishima!" I looked up to see All Might, except he wasn't in his hero form. As I thought about it, I realized I hadn't seen All Might in his hero form for a while... just a reminder that he had really retired.
A couple of other heroes arrived too, but I didn't know who they were.
"Come, Kirishima. We need to get you to a hospital." All Might guided me out of the alleyway and started to walk down the street. "Now, what did they do to you?"
I didn't respond, I couldn't tell him that I had failed to save all those people.
"Alright, you can talk about that later once we get your wounds healed."
Neither of us said another things as we entered the hospital. I was immediately checked in and put in a room. All Might never left the room as the doctor examined me.
"He has no major wounds, in fact, he barely has any injuries at all." The doctor said to All Might. "It's strange, I've never seen a patient that looks this hurt not be in pain."
I was in pain, just not physical pain. My mind was replaying what had happened over and over again. It felt like I was there...
"Are you sure?" All Might started. "He looks pretty beat up."
"I'm pretty sure that's mostly because of lack of food and sleep. After a night here he should be fine." All Might nodded and the doctor left.
"So..." he looked at me. "Ready to talk? I know sometimes these things can be sensitive, but if you could tell me then we might be able to stop them from doing the same thing to someone else."
