A/N: Did this bitch really just quote something from MDZS/CQL? Yes, yes she did. Anyways! I didn't forget about this fic, just sorta moved to the MDZS fandom and good god, wangxian?? absolutely. This chapter has Yunhyeong + Donghyuk being dumb. And a special couple makes an appearance!! (I didn't plan it but oop oh well ;) ) This chapter is longer cause it's Yundong who will only get around 4 chapters in the fic, and cause I haven't updated in a few months!! Enjoy chapter 10!
Also: Idk if I mentioned their ages but the iKON members are all freshman/first year in college ^^. Everyone from BTS is in their sophomore/second year (besides JK lmao).
~~~ Donghyuk's POV (Third) ~~~
He really needs a coffee. Like, right now. Something to fill his bloodstream with sugar, something to keep him awake. Donghyuk is way more tired than he usually is, perhaps it's the fact that he skipped breakfast, the most important meal of the day, something Yunhyeong kept nagging him (in a caring, gentle way) on. His stomach growls at the thought of food, he really should have taken Yunhyeong's offer to eat with him and Jinhwan. The rice, soup and spare ribs looked absolutely mouthwatering, he didn't know that Yunhyeong was a hidden chef waiting to be featured on Food Network.
At least he could snack on some chocolate flavoured Pepero while he waits for his shift to end. There are only a few, maybe two or three, tables with couples or single-pringles lounging around. It's a late Sunday night, the rush ended hours ago. Taehyung and Jeongguk left not so long ago, with their friend Park Jimin ordering a dozen muffins for some party going on with the second years.
Sighing, Donghyuk grabs his Pepero from his backpack from the back storage room, and slowly begins to nibble on a few sticks. Starbucks closes at 11 PM, with another hour or so to go. He still has to clean up the whole cafe, and with his two coworkers slacking off yesterday, he has to do double the work! Yes, Donghyuk is just a little bit annoyed. His coworkers are absolute angels when they're not all over each other's faces. Sometimes he wishes that they'd at least take one hot sec to tidy up the cafe.
A loud yawn escapes Donghyuk's lips, and he hopes that no one stares at him. Yet one senior girl is too invested in finishing her essay that's probably due at 12 AM, with earbuds in and loud broadway musicals playing. Another couple, which looks somewhat familiar like the characters that appeared on Jinhwan's latest favourite CDrama, sit at the far back, talking quietly and smiling at each other every few seconds.
Ah, Jinhwan. Yunhyeong's friend from Creative Writing. He's been staying over at their dorms for a few days, slowly recovering from his heartbreak. Donghyuk doesn't know who broke Jinhwan's heart, and he does want to passive-aggressively talk to that person who made him cry.
He also happens to be the guy Junhoe would not shut up about. For like, a year. After talking to Yunhyeong the night Jinhwan showed up at their door, Donghyuk realized that Junhoe didn't send him any sort of text about his date. Meaning that Jinhwan liked someone other than Junhoe, and Junhoe must also have been dejected and depressed cause the 'love of his life' didn't feel the same way.
What an absolute mess.
If things couldn't get any worst, it turns out that Bobby was moping around here and there. He's not heartbroken as Jinhwan or Junhoe, but something is definitely weird. Donghyuk has also seen that Kim Hanbin boy around, sometimes coming in for a simple black coffee (black coffee!) and hiding at the far end of the window seats. Hanbin looked like he lost too many hours of sleep, dark eye bags as evidence.
God, everyone seems to be having the bestest of times.
Donghyuk is frustrated, why can't they just talk it out? Heck, Yunhyeong even knows that something is up between the four of them, and Yunhyeong is already super oblivious!
