Cloverfield Bunker

Draft one

The story notes: I got this idea back in 2009. Rewatching the original Cloverfield with my siblings. And wrote this down in my notebook. And only lately found the book and read the original idea. It's pretty close to what was shared but some things were left out. Anyways, enjoy the 10 Cloverfield lane rip-off as some called it!!)

When a man wakes up in a bunker with a random girl, staring at him with curiosity and blood on her. Asking where he is, who is she, why there.

Girl: the world is ending. I knew it ahead of time. People said I was crazy for saying it. Not one believed me at all, so I made an underground bunker. And when the siren started to rawr, I knew I had to get as much as we can I-

Man: but how did I get here?!? I-i-i remember crashing my car and-

Women: it was next to my house..the others died instantly. Burning. But when I found you, you were still breathing. So I pulled you out and took you in.

Man: thank you... Um-

Women: I'm Julia

Man: (breaths slowly) rob

Julia: I dunno how long we'll be in here but-

Rob: how long? I gotta go see my family...I gotta see if they're okay I have to-

Julie cuts rob off

Julia: I'm sorry. But is permanently locked shut. I had to save us (pause) your family is most likely dead out there I'm sorry

Rob in rage: us?!?! You could have saved yourself, you bitch!

Julia: well fuck sorry...

Rob: look. I'm just freaking out right now, alright!?! Can you give me a second!!

Rob and Julia sit in silence for a second. Julia looks at rob. Rob looks up and sees that Julia is shy near him.

Rob: Look I'm sorry I over redacted. Thank you for saving me, Julia.

Julia: you're welcome

We hear an explosion and the two react. Both worried like crazy, they get up and rob a search for light. Light blasts threw the Bunker. It looks like a normal apartment but has no windows.

Julia: I put everything in here that we can survive off for 20 years. Food, water, enough energy even enough things to do-

Rob: what about taking a shit or pissing?

Julia: I'm not fucking stupid if that's what you're asking! I put a bathroom system here too. It's littered a house that's underground.

Rob: Sorry. Again.

Rob and Julia settle down with Tuy can't roaring in the background, slowly fading away. Along with the bombing. The ticking of a clock slowly faded in and out.

Julia: you wanna watch TV.?

Rob: you have the fucking TV too?

Julia: well not cable TV but a bunch of DVDs.

Rob: that's even better.

Julia gets up and pits in a random movie. And heads into the kitchen to make something to eat for them. Rob sits there still a bit confused but tries to be comfortable about it. We see a microwave popping popcorn and Julia grabbing soda for her and Rob.

Rob: Julia, why don't you tell me about yourself. Since we are stuck here for a while.

Julia: there is not a lot to me. I'm just a crazy girl (whispers)

Rob: come on, there's gotta be something?

Julia: I built this Bunker. I'm not like any other girls Rob looks interested. Julia is shy. She sits next to him, but not that close.
