Chris was standing in the middle of the street arguing with his girlfriend Alexis. I could tell Chris was heated because his nostrils were flared and he couldn't stand still. Alex was crying grabbing onto his chest. The only reason I was watching is because Chris and I had walked to the park and I couldn't walk home by myself.

"Get out my face man. I don't even care go be with that other nigga." He looked as if he was about to push her. Everytime she got closer he backed a few inches back.

"Christopher it's not even like that I swear! We didn't do nothing I promise! Why would I ever jeoparize our relastionship? We were just talking I promise!"

The street lights were flickering on and this conversation seemed like it was going no where so I decided to speak up.

"Chris.." I spoke softly.

"What!" He yelled. I guess he realized he was a bit harsh because the fire in his eyes turned soft. "My bad Kiy...whats up?"

"We gotta go" I nodded my head towards the street light that were fully turned on. I swung myself off the swings and walked over to Chris.

"Look I gotta go. I'll call you later or whateva." He grabbed my hand and pulled me down the street. Things were kind of awkward since he was still pissed off. I scratched my throat and looked up at him. He kept his eyes straight ahead but I knew he knew I was looking at him. "What" was all he said.

"Nevermind..." I couldn't look him in the eyes because I've never seen him this fustrated. He stopped walking and stood in front of me.

"Look Kiy... I never meant to yell at you. I'm not even angry with you, hell I don't know who I'm angry with. I'm just fustrated okay. I got Lex lying to me and it just all set in and.. I don't know. But best believe I can never get angry at you. So if I ever yell at you again just punch me in the arm a'ight?" He smiled picking up my chin with his index finger.

My mind suddenly came back to reality. I felt a tear escape from my eye. Marcus frowned but was quick to pull me in his embrace. I don't know why but I broke down in his arms. By now we were sitting on a bench in front of the Water Gardens. Marcus didn't question me about my sudden behavior.

The car ride to my dorm was silent. Every now and then I would peak out the corner of my eye to get a glance of Marcus. He didn't even look bothered. He was acting completley nonchalant.

I noticed we missed our turn to enter FSU dorms. I turned to look at him but he didn't even bother staring this way. I was about to speak up but he beat me to it.

"I just want you to relax tonight. Alright? We just gone go to my place and chill. No if's and's or but's about it."

I pushed my back against the seat and closed my eyes.

When I woke up knew for sure I wasn't in my dorm. I was laying in a queen size bed attatched to the plush white covers lying on top of me. There was a 40 inch flat screen television hanging on the wall and a drawer underneath. The room was simple but clean. I assumed it was Marcus' room because there were a couple pictures on the walls and deoderant on top of the drawers.

After I grew tired of staring in blank space I searched around the apartment in hopes to find Marcus. His apartment was nearly empty besides his basic furniture and few items. Just as I was about to enter the bathroom I heard the front door open. Marcus held a Wendy's bag between his teeth with a cup holder and keys in both his hands. He kicked the door closed with his foot. We both sat on the couch not saying a word to one another. I tried my best to avoid eye contact with him because of my outburst earlier.

"Look Kiya. I just wanna let you know that you don't have to hide anything from me. I get it it if you not ready to talk about anything just let me know what's up. If it's some shit thats hurting you, you gotta tell me how to fix it. I don't wanna see you cry. You to cute for all'at." He smiled trying to brighten the mood.

I didn't know whether or not I should tell Marcus about Chris because that was still a touchy subject for me. Instead I scooted myself closer to him. He wrapped his arm around my frame. His fragrance had me hynotized by itself. Everytime I hugged him, he always smelled like spearmint gum and cologne.

"Yes" Was all that I said.

"Yes? Yes what?" His voice dripped of curiostiy.

"Yes I'll be your girl." In my head I thought I would say it with more confidence but it came out kind of nervous. After that he didn't say anything. He kissed my forehead and began digging around for his food.
