and appreciate your skin's inner folds
without society's labels

watch your eyes dilate in a mirror
a pool of black spewing out from a soul
once proudly declared nonexistent
because feelings are not intangible doodles
not raindrops banked in a darkening cloud
embrace them for they make you who you are

appreciate beauty in solitude;
a lone lightbulb in a dark basement
a budding flower in a sea of weeds
a watering hole in the desert

you are a blessing;
cursed thou who ignore thee
who are on their knees, praying
while you fly on by, with an olive branch clenched between your teeth

you are alone in your king-sized bed
where you reside as queen
and reign supreme solitare
in your death bed

love yourself
clay to mold and manipulate as you please
you are to model nobody's expectations
but your own
