First up on the list, I have BTS. Now, please Do Not Come At Me. There are a lot of NEW ARMYs who say that, "BTS are the kings of kpop" or "BTS is the best kpop group" and stuff like that. Honestly, I used to be like that too, but then I began to listen to other, older, groups, like SHINee, BigBang or Super Junior.
BTS is second generation kpop, just as EXO, GOT7, MAMAMOO and any other groups which debuted in that time period. Before BTS— or any other group before 2012 came around, these older groups have been owning their eras and they should be titled as such. For me personally, I think that the title of "Kings of Kpop" should go to either BigBang or Super Junior.
Yes, I get it. BTS has paved the way for a lot of groups— rookies in particular. But there were others who did the same. Just look at Wonder Girls, or PSY or even once again BigBang, Super Junior and SHINee. I'm not saying that BTS is a bad group, please do not misunderstand. But BTS just does not deserve that title in my eyes and I also know for a FACT that they worked their asses off to be where they are now so don't come at me.
