Chapter one
I stand in the courtyard of my school campus taking hits because I did what my dad has always done. I stood up and protected someone who couldn't do either for themselves.
"That's enough get off the poor girl all of you. Give her some air." My principle yells shoving the kids that were beating on me off. If people really knew who my dad was, I think I would have an easier life. But I'm not a person to play the "My dad saved the world" card.
My dad taught me how to be fair and comprise with people who others couldn't compromise with. He said he had to do that when he was younger, some compromises were made that didn't make everyone sleep well at night but he did it for the right of freedom. So everyone would be treated equally. And it's how he raised me.
"You know that's the fourth fight within the past two weeks?" Principal Coulson asks.
"Yeah, can you not call my dad. He worry's to much about me going to school as it is. Everytime I come home with one of these." I raise my hand to my black eye. "I tell him I ran into a tree branch or tripped and hit a railing. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed but he does figure it out sometimes." I say. Principal Coulson smiles.
"Abigail, what do you do to get yourself beat up?" He asks.
"Well, there's some kids in campus. Like the nerds or the shy people that don't stand up when their being bullied. So I step in and get the living beat out of me." I say. "I can't imagine what the hits will feel like in High School though." I say taking a tissue and wiping my bloody face.
"Listen, the bells about to ring. Can you manage to leave school without starting another fight?" Coulson asks. I nod. "Ok then when the bell rings go on ahead and get out of here." I smile and grab my bag from the floor. Its a small hard bag that holds my ipod, phone, and school stuff. I pull out my phone an iPod. Then plug in my ear buds.
"And Abigal." Principal Coulson says stopping me. "Try using makeup to cover that black eye. Might help things go by smoother at home with your dad." He says. I smile.
"Thanks I'll try it." I say and shut the door to his office. As I do the bell rings as if it's my cue and I start towards the exit. As I walk I see the guys the were beating me up and pull my hood over my head and shove my hands in my pockets. As I open the door out its raining.
There's a black car with its windows tinted. I walk up to it and knock on the window. It rolls down and I see Agent Hill behind the wheel. "Get in." She says with a smile then I notice her eyes trail to my black eye.
"I think I'm gonna walk. A little water won't hurt." I say. "But thanks anyway." I turn and start walking when Hills calls me.
"Abigail! Take this." I walk back to the car and Hill hands me a small thing of foundation. "Don't let your dad see that. You know what he'll have you do. You have some time till he gets home. He's in training today till 6." Hill says and pulls away.
I watch her pull off and back towards Sheild HQ and start towards my house. I turn down my usual shortcut ally and see them leaning against the wall. "How'd you find me?" I ask.
"Oh hi Abigail. Didn't know you came this way." John the leader of the group says. "It's easy. We just follow you. Duh. Donny make sure she stays here." I turn around and see Alan standing behind me. He grabs my shoulders and shoves me towards John non of these guys are huge. But they are 5-7 inches higher than me.
"You know whatever your parents are feeding you they can stop. Your tall enough." I say. There's five guys surrounding me. Two behind and two behind John. All of them 13 like me except for John who was held back a year and is actually 14.
