Chapter two
I open the front door to the apartment and Steve comes in just behind me. I walk straight to my room and put my bag away. Where I then go to the bathroom. "I'll start dinner." Steve says as I walk into the bathroom.
"Thank you sir." I say and shut the door. I look in the mirror and see my face. To add to the black eye I have an busted bottom lip and a small cut on my cheek bone. I take off my shirt and look at the new bruises. Luckily I only have two, but their both dark colors.
I painfully pull on my shirt and open the medicine cabinet. I grab the rubbing alcohol and dab it on my busted up cheek and lip. After I put everything away I walk to the kitchen.
"Is there anything you need help with sir?" I ask Steve.
"Not at the moment Abby. But why don't you go do your homework." Steve says.
"Its already been completed sir." I say. Steve looks at me.
"When did you do that?" He asks. I lower my head. "What is it?" He asks.
"I kind of did it in principal Coulson's office sir." I say.
"Oh. Why? And what's with all of this sir and proper grammar stuff?" Steve asks.
"I got into a fight at school today." I say. "And I'm just trying to be more respectful."
"Who was the fight between this time? And is that where you got the shiner from?" Steve asks. I nod.
"Those boys in the ally. And yeah. I was standing up for someone like I always have to do. And we both know how those fights always end up." I explain.
"You know this wouldn't be happening of you went to school at shield." Steve says
"So your bringing this up again?" I snap.
"Yes I think it would be good for you. Its a good place." Steve explains.
"Yeah a good place to be taught how to fight and kill. We already had this fight Steve. I'm not going to practically a military school. I want to have an as normal as possible life as I can." I explain. "And it doesn't help that I have you as a parent."
"You know your mom would be telling you the same thing." Steve says. I turn around and start to walk to my room.
"Yeah well where is she at? Hmm? Saving the world. Sometimes you go. Sometimes she goes. Sometimes I have to go stay with uncle Tony for a little while you both go on a mission. And maybe you like that kind of life. But I don't want to go into the" family business ". And you can't change my mind on that." I say and I slam my door behind me.
I walk over to my bed and flop onto it and let out a sigh. Sheild is the last thing I need. Steve says their a few kids like me that attend school at Shield. I don't get why they can't go to normal school then Shield after. Anyways. I guess a few Avengers had kids [not counting Steve and my mom Natasha (Black Widow)]
There's a knock on my door and Steve's head pokes in. "Can we talk?" He asks.
"Depends. Is this another 'you talk and I listen' talks?" I ask. Steve shakes his head.
"No. I want your impute on this to." Steve says. "Are you happy at the school your at now?"
I shake my head. "No. I don't have any friends. And I guess I like to get beat up a lot." I say. Steve and I chuckle.
