The foggy morning dew fills the air as I rise from the bed. Grace is the only one missing from the bed. She must've already went down to the stables. I hope she got breakfast before leaving. I shuffle out of bed and place Nolan further into the bed before placing a kiss on each of there cheeks.

" I don't know what I'm doing, but I vow to protect you all and not let our kingdom fall." I whisper to the three sleeping boys before exiting the room.

I linger into the halls as servants and guards all stroll around unaware of what to do. I walk to the nearest guard and bark orders.

" Could you please ring the bell for everyone to gather in the throne room?" He nods and strides off, followed shortly by the loud rings of the medal bell. The halls begin to fill and I make my way with the crowd to the room.

I stand at the base of all the thrones watching as confused people fill the room. After everyone as reached the room all my siblings all come and stand behind me rubbing their eyes. All except Grace. She must be on the trails with her horse Ginger.
" As you all know, my father, the king has died." I do my best to swallow back the tears.

You've done good so far Myiah, keep it together.

I pick up from where I left off.

" The people are still unaware, I will send word to all the villages today even if I have to ride out myself—"

A loud voice overacts mine from the back of the room.

" But princess, you've never been outside the palace gates. You don't know where to go how to get back. Your young and royalty the villages wouldn't react kindly." I think to myself for a moment before answer.

" Yes indeed I've never passed the castle gates. I'll take a few guards with me. I'll assign a servant to watch the children for the day. Upon our arrival, we'll plan the funeral and a festival to follow. I hope you all got a good nights rest, for the next few days are very busy."

I watch as mutters fill the air.
" Mrs. Rita?" I call and she steps from behind a few men.

" Yes Princess?"

When father was alive he made all the castle workers address his children as princes or princess. I hated it, Princess was not my name.

" Everyone, from here on out you no longer have to address me by princess, Myiah is fine."
All the gasp fill the air. I'm assuming they didn't know our actual names.

" Mrs. Rita, can you watch the children today? You can have the next three days to rest here at the castle if you like. You can also have your own maid during that time." She smiles and accepts my offer.

Men and women go to exit the room.

" Wait" I yell and everyone comes to a stop dead in their tracks. Everyone's eyes fall back on me.

" Untill further notice, I'll be running the castle myself. Any questions or objections?" A few people fall silent while others whisper to their neighbor.

" Prince- Myiah, your a fourteen year old girl, you can't run a castle or lead a country. You've never seen what lays beyond the castle. You've never experienced war and you want to lead a country? Once other kingdoms hear about the king, there going to try to overrun the country."

Ugh he's got a point. Yes, I've never seen past the castle gates. I've never seen war. I don't know what I'm doing but I vowed to protect my brothers and sisters, and my country. I mustn't let anything happen. I must be prepared for the worst.

" This was my fathers country. His death was tragic. I'll lead just the way my father did, courageously and honorable. I will lead the armies and we will remain a strong country. We won't send word about father to neighboring kingdoms just yet. For now everyone resume their duties and chores as if father was still here. Maids and servants your realeased guards stay behind."
