~Time skip: 2 weeks~

The duo now possessed new drivers licenses, wallets, phones, and many other necessities they may had lost along the way. Haknyeon scrolled through his phone, looking at all the data that had been salvaged from his backup on the cloud. He looked through his contacts, seeing various names.

"Mom..." he whispered, hovering over the contact. He wanted to call, but he was afraid. What if they didn't have a good relationship? What if she had updated her number ages ago? What would he even say to her? "Maybe not..."

"Maybe not what?" asked Hyunjoon, looking through his messages with friends.

"Oh, uh, was just looking at contacts, you know? Maybe get them to tell me about myself." said Haknyeon, scrolling past his mother's contact.

"I've already contacted a few people through text. They think I'm joking though... Was I a jokester before?" Hyunjoon muttered, trying his hardest to get people to take him seriously.

Haknyeon scrolled back up and once more stared at his mother's number. He quietly walked some distance away from Hyunjoon before tapping on her number. It rang and rang and rang. She picked up on the last ring.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of a phone call from my estranged son?" a gruff sounding woman asked on the other end.

"This is my mom... right?" he asked weakly.

"After all these years of silence, this is the first thing you say to me? Your father would be ashamed of you." she replied before hanging up.

Haknyeon looked at his phone screen before sighing heavily. His guess was right, they were on bad terms. He couldn't help but notice he didn't have a contact for his father. Were they worse off than he was with his mother?

"Hey! I got some info." said Hyunjoon loudly before noticing Haknyeon's mood. "Is something wrong...?"

"I'm not close with my parents... I thought they could help me..." whispered Haknyeon before letting his arms fall to his sides.

"What? You don't have their numbers? Or their address written somewhere?" pressed Hyunjoon, taking his phone. "You do have your mom's-"

"She hung up on me!" Haknyeon shouted before biting his lower lip. "She was upset... I've never been in contact with her for years..."

"Oh... I'm sorry... I just-" Hyunjoon said then watched as Haknyeon walked away from him.

He understood. The people who gave you life and raised you not being there to help you in a time of need would indeed hurt like a bitch. Was it wise to leave him alone? His grip on his phone tightened as he looked in the direction Haknyeon disappeared in. His body was already moving before his mind could've made itself up.

Haknyeon sipped on iced coffee as he sat beside Hyunjoon in a park. He looked down at his drink as it moved slightly from his own movement.

"Thanks." he muttered, keeping his eyes on the drink.

"You're ready to talk to me now huh? All it took was an iced coffee..." said Hyunjoon with a slight pout.
