"Bells!" Jacob roared, running towards the sound of her screams. She was convulsing on a hospital bed in the living room, her body covered in a sheen of sweat. The screeches and screams coming from her mouth were inhuman. Rosalie was standing over her naked body with a scalpel, and she dug the sharp end of the metal into Bella's engorged stomach. Blood instantly began pooling to the surface as she cut through the capillaries, and her eyes flashed with hunger.

Jacob noticed the look as well, and he threw his body into Rosalie's, knocking her away from Bella. Edward took her place, cutting into Bella's delicate human flesh and digging through her insides, finally pulling out a tiny baby girl. The blood from her abdomen was spilling over the incision site and splattering on the pristine white floor. "She's beautiful." Edward murmured, and Bella gasped. Her eyelids were heavy and her skin was a ghostly pale. She seemed numb to the pain at this point, and Kaylee thought that Bella was in shock.

"She? My baby girl.. my Renesmee." She cooed, reaching out and taking the baby from her husband's arms. She flinched as the baby bit her exposed flesh, and then Renesmee cried out in despair. Edward quickly took her back, cuddling her close to his body. Bella closed her eyes for a moment, taking slow deep breaths. She looked as if she was sleeping, but the rise and fall of her chest had ceased.

"Here, take her." Edward said, giving Kaylee the baby and shooing her out of the room, with Rosalie following close behind.

"I'm okay now. Let me take her." Rosalie insisted, and Kaylee obliged, passing her over to Rosalie before following her into the other room. As much as Kaylee loved Bella, this was something that she just couldn't handle. She wished that she could be in there holding her hand, but she knew she wasn't strong enough to see her friend like that. Naked and exposed and bleeding out on the table. Jacob and Edward were shouting in despair in the other room, and Kaylee sat down beside Rosalie on the couch.

"She's beautiful." Kaylee said quietly, and Rosalie smiled bitterly. She must have noticed the confusion on Kaylee's face at her bitter expression, and she explained her story in a low voice. She told Kaylee about her best friend, who had a handsome husband and a beautiful baby, and the wonderfully rich man that she was engaged to marry.

She told her about how she ran into him that night on the street, drunk with a group of his friends, and how they violated her. They left her beautiful, mutilated body in the street to die, until Carlisle found her. He changed her into a vampire, and she met Emmett, the love of her life. She talked about how she wanted to grow old with him on a porch, sitting in their rocking chairs surrounded by their many grandchildren.

"I can see where you're coming from with your protectiveness over Renesmee. I just went to the doctor and had my fertility checked to make sure that Jacob and I would be able to have children. Luckily they said the chemotherapy hadn't messed anything up." Kaylee told her, reaching out and brushing a finger against Renesmee's soft skin.

Jacob ran out of the room, running past Rosalie and his imprint, running briskly through the front door. Edward remained in the room with Bella, and Kaylee sighed. "She didn't make it, did she?" She asked quietly, and Rosalie shook her head, her eyes never leaving the tiny baby girl in her arms.

"Edward injected her with a large dose of his venom, and it sounded like he was biting her, too. He's trying to get as much venom into her system as possible to make sure that the change works." Kaylee gnawed on her lip, pulling at the loose skin until she felt blood rush to the surface. She wasn't the biggest fan of Edward, as he made her very nervous. But this isn't what he deserves. He deserved to have a happy family. Kaylee stood up, brushing off her pants.

"Jacob, baby?" She asked, walking outside into the yard. He was crouched down in the grass, rocking his body gently. Leah and Seth Clearwater watched sadly from the sidelines, feeling immense pity for their heart broken friend.

She squatted down next to him, wrapping her tiny arms around his large body. "Bella's gone." He sobbed, his voice cracking. Kaylee didn't say anything, she just sat down in the damp grass and held his tightly. The tears were pouring from his eyes, and Seth had a few running down his face as well. Kaylee's own eyes were full of tears, and Leah watched the scene with a solemn expression.

After a few minutes of just holding her lover, he pushed Kaylee off of him gently. He stormed into the house looking determined, and she followed behind him quickly, not sure what he was planning on doing. He stopped behind Rosalie, squatting down and looking at the small baby girl.

Kaylee sat down beside him, smiling at the baby. Renesmee reached out and latched onto Kaylee's index finger with her own tiny fist, and she saw Jacob's expression soften. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and kissed her temple, watching the interaction with Renesmee.

Kaylee was imagining her future children again. Beautiful little Quilette children just running around their living room as she cooked dinner in her nurse's scrubs with Jacob right by her side. Rosalie watched the couple closely, and then she slowly placed Renesmee in Kaylee's waiting arms. Her expression was slightly jealous. Jacob and Kaylee could have a family together, and Rosalie knew that she could never have that with Emmett.

Kaylee cuddled the baby close to her chest, but made sure that none of her skin was exposed. She didn't want the little girl to bite her like she did with her mother. Edward came out of the living room looking defeated, and he took his baby from Kaylee's arms, looking into her innocent brown eyes. "Edward? Did it work?" Kaylee asked, the hope evident in her voice.

He simply shrugged his shoulders, looking like he had lost all hope in his wife. "Hopefully. My venom should be flowing through her veins as we speak, her body should be practically full of it." Kaylee nodded, feeling optimistic. If Carlisle was able to save every single member of his family from their demise, she had faith that Edward could save the love of his life. He had to save her. Renesmee shouldn't have to live her life without knowing her mom.

Kaylee leaned against Jacob's shoulder, quietly watching the interaction between the baby and her father, no one speaking a word. The next few days would be spent in the Cullen's in tense silence, watching Renesmee grow quicker than a normal child, and waiting for Bella to wake up.
