Okay, so this totally new to me, it's a project I had to do at school and took quite some time. I could take any topic I wanted. In the first place, I wanted to make Optimus, like I made in my earlier in this book, but I realized it would take so much time and I don't have that time.
So, etching is an image made in gravure printing technique of a copper or zinc plate in which the image is etched by acid.
I used a zinc plate for this, and cleaned it, so I could see my own reflection after that I had to degrease it, and finally put that strange brown substance on it and I had to let it dry...
Anyway, I wanted to make etch a of the Autobot symbol like I said before, so with some sort of metal needle and geo triangle I started to make the symbol, that isn't hard cuz I draw that symbol almost everyday, but I had to play with light and shadow... and other kids in my class had a building or something what isn't a symbol, this isn't 3D so the light can't fall on one side without reflecting, that's why I wanted to place it in the spot lights. The light is coming from the front.
I also had to do background so I started to scratch lines in the brown layer of dried substance (I don't even know what it is, but it smells terrible), next week Friday, I have to finish the scratching and then I have to place it in hydrochloric acid or what so I can do something with ink and all... I don't know, my teacher will explain to me next week.
I don't think I would choose this style of making art, but I had fun scratching and drawing the Autobot symbol!

So this is what I have for now, uhm... yeah... looks terrible, despite the fact he has a mustache... I've to fix that next week😂 I think I did it wrong tho, but as I said, I had fun making it, I liked the scratching part and play with dark and shadow, but I realized when I was halfway through, that the more I was scratching on one place, the darker it will become eventually... so... I don't know 😂
I actually wanted to make the background the darker than the symbol, so it looks like it's in the spot lights. *sigh*
Next week Friday I'll post the end result if I succeed in finishing it...
