Even though Dess apologized to Rose there was still some tension between them. Dess felt like curling up into a ball and hiding from the world. Dess could tell Anthony was worried about him but he didn't want to ruin his reunion with his sister.Dess left the room and decided to go to the infirmary. Anthony appeared at the door.
"Hey... you doing alright?" Anthony asked.
"Sure..." Dess replied in a very unconvincing manner.
"You're not. Is it because of Rose?" Anthony asked. "Because if it is I will kick her butt!"
"Last time I checked you weren't quite able to kick anybody's butt." Dess chuckled.
"Are you laughing at my misfortune? Ugh, the story of my failure is too far spread! I must work hard to repair my reputation!" Anthony dramatically sat down beside Dess. Dess thought Anthony could be an actor.
"I never wanted this life." Dess smiled at Anthony.
"What life did you want?" Anthony calmed down and asked.
"Any life but one where I am in constant fear." Dess replied. "What did you want to be?"
"A great prince to the queen. Well when my sister turned into the queen. But now... I wanna be an author." Anthony answered.
"That's so cool. So what made you wanna be an author?" Dess looked at Anthony in wonder.
"All the cool adventures I've been on when I was in a gang!" Anthony smiled.
"Wow." Dess marveled. "I wish I wasn't such a coward so I could be cool like you!"
"You're already cool bud!" Anthony patted Dess on the back. Dess felt like he was blushing.
"Hey Dess, if you're looking for a motivational speaker you should talk to Kay. He could totally motivate you to do stuff." Junior popped her head into the infirmary and left.
Dess then realized how close his hand was to Anthony's and quickly moved it.
"Well, thanks Anthony! I'll see ya later!" Dess stood up in a rush and almost walked into a wall.
"Watch where you're walking, see ya." Anthony waved at Dess's retreating figure and sighed.
Dess ran up on deck and approached Kay.
"Hey. Junior tell you to come here for motivation?" Kay asked. He sounded exhausted already. What did Junior do to him?
"Yeah. But you also seem like a reasonable person. And like since I know you and Rose are best friends maybe you could talk her out of attempting to murder me?" Dess answered.
"We are best friends but I don't think I can. I'll try though. Motivational Kay!" Kay shouted. "It needs work doesn't it."
"I think you've found your calling but your catch phrase could use a lot of work." Dess replied.
